Many of the world’s most successful people have a morning routine that has helped them to be more productive to achieve their successes. The tone of the day gets set for you as soon as you wake up each day and that means starting off the day right so you can have a great day.

Many people start their day by hitting the snooze button or checking social media which is actually the opposite of how you should start your day to get more done. If you want to be like the most successful people in the world, get more work done in less time and be more productive everyday then keep reading as I share with you 10 morning habits of the most successful people.

Number 1: Wake Up Early

Waking up early every day is the very first step towards success and is not as hard as it may appear. Once you set a bedtime and wake up time schedule for yourself, it will become second nature. Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about starting his mornings as early as 3:45am and Oprah likes to begin her mornings around 6:00 am.

This is how they are able to get so much done, but this doesn’t mean losing out of valuable hours of sleep. Many doctors suggest going to bed around 10pm and getting around 8 hours of sleep. Successful people know that this time of sleep is very important. If they rise early, they will be able to get more done while having more personal time.

Number 2: Make Your Bed

This may not seem like an important step towards helping you become successful, but it surely is! Making your bed in the morning not only will help you start off the day right but will help you avoid the urge to go back to bed. The act of making your bed in the morning is also a habit that the military teaches and many of the world’s most successful people do as a form of discipline.

Number 3: Healthy Breakfast

We all have learned that breakfast is the most important meal of the day so it’s important to make sure it’s a healthy balanced meal. Fueling your body with healthy nutrients will also fuel your brain to give you energy and strength to start your day and have a productive day. What you feed your body and brain in the morning will determine how you feel throughout the rest of the day.

Number 4: Drink Water

It may be a challenge to think about drinking water when you first wake up in the morning, but it is very important. Drinking water when you first wake up not only hydrates you after 8 hours of not drinking anything but it also aids your digestive system for when you eat that healthy breakfast we talked about.

The human body is made of 75% water so it is essential to drink anywhere from 2 Liters to a gallons of water per day. Successful people always make sure to stay hydrated in order to keep their energy level up throughout the day.

Number 5: Workout Routine

It is amazing how a simple workout routine in the morning from strength training to cardio to yoga can have a positive effect on your mood for the rest of the day. Not to mention, working out on an empty stomach helps burn calories all day.

Working out in the morning while your cortisol levels are high gives your body the whole day for your cortisol levels to normalize so that you can reach a deep sleep when bedtime comes. Successful people know how important exercising is as it boosts your energy levels, prevents high blood pressure and releases endorphins which are the foundation of feeling happiness.

Number 6: Meditate

With reaching higher levels of success also comes more stress in your life. Meditation is how successful people escape, relax and reset their bodies and minds. We all deal with stress and it can be hard trying to juggle it all. In order to be successful, you must use tools like meditations to keep calm, disconnect from the world and clear your mind.

Number 7: Plan Your Day

Creating a schedule for yourself and planning your day makes your day run a lot more smoothly. Once you already know what needs to be done and your mind is prepared for the day ahead, you will be able to handle everything that comes your way.

With a plan for your day, you can get to work right away after tackling other parts of your morning routine so that you won’t get distracted and lose precious time. Successful people that develop morning habits, create to-do lists to stay on task and take short breaks to avoid mentally burning out are the ones that have very productive days every day.

Number 8: Positive Affirmations

Your mindset upon starting your day can be the determining factor of the mood you’re in and how you carry yourself. Writing down or reciting out loud positive affirmations in the morning can put you in a positive mood and raise your vibration to have a productive and successful day.

Using positive affirmations to start your day not only motivates you to get a lot done but gives you an energy boost to have the best day possible. You can be like the world’s most successful people and put sticky notes of positive affirmations on your bathroom mirror or somewhere where you will see them every day and be reminded to be positive in order to make the most of your day.

Number 9: Prayer

You don’t have to be religious to believe in the power of prayer. Prayer can be done in so many ways and forces you to focus on the important things you want out of life while in deep prayer.

Prayer can be done by talking to The Most High, the universe, your higher self or any higher power that you believe in and can be done by giving thanks for being alive today, asking for forgiveness, showing gratitude or simply asking for guidance for your day ahead.

However you choose to pray, it can help you to feel at peace, put you in a positive state of mind and help you to feel charged up to have a successful day.

Number 10: Learn Something New

You can learn something new every day by reading, playing brain games or even teaching yourself a new language. This not only forces you to put your brain to work in the morning but starts to form a new habit in your brain that you are ready to learn every morning.

Choosing to feed your brain knowledge when you wake up helps to put you one step ahead of the rest of the world that chooses not to do this.

It is very easy to get caught up in sleeping in, spending most of your time around everyone else and being involved in mundane tasks and forget about yourself.

This is why successful people create morning habits for themselves so that can be ready to face the world and give the necessary time to themselves that they need and so can you.

Final Thoughts:

The way that you start your day can determine how your day goes and how it ends. Why not wake up feeling empowered, energized and positive so that you are that much more motivated to make it a great day everyday!
