TikTok has become an excellent resource for wedding inspiration, and is providing hacks and tips for many couples in the form of bitesize videos – with 40% of Gen Z choosing this platform and Instagram over Google.

And this can be useful for your wedding. Whether you’re planning to find unique wedding venues in the Lake District or looking for the perfect candlestick décor on a budget, these videos can give you some great ideas in bitesize chunks.

Here, we will look at some popular TikTok hacks for your big day, from planning the perfect seating arrangement to making sure your guests leave at the end of the night!

Something borrowed, something… glue?

One hack which has done its rounds on TikTok recently is from @jenniferreneephotography, a wedding photographer from America. In her video, which received 30.6 million views and 1.1 million likes, she demonstrates the best and easiest way to keep your necklace in place throughout your wedding.

All you need to do is simply attach some eyelash glue to the base of your neck and attach the clasp to it – it should hold in place all evening!

Your makeup artist should have this on hand and, even if you wear your hair up for the day, the glue should dry clear so any of your guests won’t detect it. So now you can dance the evening away without having to readjust every twenty minutes.

Simple seating plans

Another wedding hack that could help you in the run-up to your big day is making the seating plans easier. Content creator @maggyllywarch4 has received 2.3 million views and almost 50k likes for her idea.

Simply write the guests’ names on clothing pegs and attach these to paper plates, which can represent your tables. If your tables are rectangular, you might want to use paper instead. This makes it easy to move both the tables and individual guests around the venue as you plan the best seating for everyone.

Get your guests talking

Another brilliant idea for your wedding evolves the traditional guest book into a series of interviews. In the TikTok by @shayna_webb, which received 8.9 million views and 1.3 million likes, her maid of honour took to the floor to talk to the guests during their cocktail hour, getting a “post-game” style of interview for the newlyweds.

This can capture the moment for both you and the guests, as well as a few tipsy confessions if captured at the right time – a fun way to add something new to your day and save the memory in more than just photographs.

Leaving on a love train

And what about those guests who stay behind long after the party has ended? Your venue will want to start cleaning up, and you might be planning a lovely exit with fireworks or confetti as you leave the reception. Well, TikToker and wedding planner @rachelburtgarcia explains how.

With an incredible 4.7 million views and over 900k likes, Rachel’s video explains that the best way to get guests to leave is by making the band play “Love Train” by The O’Jays while leading a conga line out of the door. You can choose any song you like, where a conga line is involved, guests are sure to follow.

So no matter what you are looking for, social media might have the answer. From leaving on a love train to gluing your necklace in place, TikTok can be the perfect platform for inspo and hacks on how to get the most out of your special day.
