In the days of chivalry and knights, centuries ago in Europe, the gentleman always got on one knee and asked for a lady’s hand in marriage. It’s a tradition which continues currently, to an extent. Nowadays in America, and other parts of the world, the woman can now take the initiative.

Take the Ultimate Hustler Damon “Dame” Dash for example; he accepted an emerald ring from his fiancée, Raquel “Rocky” Horn. In the past, he’s asked Rocky to be his wife on numerous occasions, but Rocky wanted to demonstrate that women can take the lead. She didn’t get on one knee, but she still proposed to Dame.

While the couple shares a child, they have yet to marry, and according to Dame it’s because of his tax issues. But should this be?

Should the woman recognize the man as the prize, and praise and worship him for his virtue? Should the woman be the one to go beyond Rocky’s actions and take a knee?

The emerald ring symbolizes Rocky’s appreciation for a boss. She asked herself the question:“Why does the girl always get the engagement ring?” Doing something like that could be controversial, but it appears to have resulted in a special moment for the couple. Dame and Rocky have already established themselves together.

Making their relationship official, as in recognized by the government, will of course take time thanks to Dame’s tax issues, but they have something to look forward to.

Dame called the gesture “beautiful,” and said he “loved it.” Dame had wanted to get married in Las Vegas, but Rocky’s mother was concerned that would result in too-extravagant an affair.

He also outlined how COVID-19 derailed many other plans to wed. So Dame was obviously thinking about joining Rocky in legal matrimony, but he had to keep up his appearances, and work his fingers to the bone, even in this pandemic. As a director, artist, and streaming services boss with a portfolio of properties, Mr. Poppington is still going to regard himself as a man of stature and pride. His ego, a good thing, helped him to keep his mind focused on the end goal of their marriage.

The businessman and true gentleman accepted the ring because he knows Rocky is a woman of worth, and he is the everlasting leader in her life.

He acknowledged as much, and that he was the ruler of his own soul. He also knows he can protect and provide as a father, especially since he has three other children from previous relationships.

Trying mariage again is not far removed from his position as the executive producer of his own life, obviously. Rocky feels she’s strong enough as a woman to play her role as the executive co-producer of that life.

The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder has the know-how to chart courses through the toils and snares of the sometimes treacherous entertainment business.

If the couple are supposed to exchange nuptials, the business has to be tied in with the marriage. That’s really what the arrangement is all about. The union of two businesses or the merger is what comes when two people wed. The reason why some marriages fail could be because of the fact that people never think of marriage as a transaction in their lives. Ayn Rand once said the currency of such an arrangement of two people joined together in love is virtues.

Dame Dash first laughed at the idea of Rocky essentially proposing, but then saw how profound her display actually was. Within the context of his various businesses, his tax concerns, and his beautiful bundle of joy with Rocky, he sees his own power as a man to have his woman put a ring on it.
