So it is necessary for every person to have information related to blood pressure. So that when it is needed.

What is blood pressure ?

When the arteries of the heart become narrow due to plaque build-up, it becomes difficult for the heart to pump the same amount of blood, leading to an increase in blood pressure. This causes the problem of high blood pressure. High blood pressure is also called hypertension.

In the condition of hypertension, the blood continuously exerts more pressure than normal on the walls of your blood vessels. Let us tell you that depending on your actions, your blood pressure keeps on changing throughout the day.

A blood pressure machine is used to measure this pressure. This machine shows two numbers of blood pressure, in which the upper reading is called ‘systolic’ and the lower reading is called ‘diastolic’ blood pressure.

What is systolic blood pressure?

Systolic blood pressure is considered the force during the heart beat. During the heart beat, the heart pumps blood into the arteries. The measure of this force is called systolic pressure. It is also known as systole, is the point at which the blood pressure is highest. This is the top number shown on the blood pressure machine.

What should be the measurement of systolic blood pressure?

When you are sitting comfortably and your systolic blood pressure reading is less than 120 mmHg, it is considered normal.

If the systolic pressure is less than 90 mmHg, it is considered low. In this situation, you may need the help of a doctor.

If multiple readings of your systolic pressure exceed 180 mmHg, it is considered dangerous. In such a situation, one should go to the doctor immediately.

What is diastolic blood pressure?

This is considered a pause during the heartbeat. When your heart rests for a while while beating, so that it can be filled with blood and oxygen. The pause between heart beats is called diastole. Your diastolic pressure is measured during this rest before the next heart beat. The diastolic reading is the bottom number that flashes on the blood pressure machine.

What should be the measurement of diastolic blood pressure?

Normal diastolic blood pressure is less than 80 mmHg during rest. If you have high blood pressure, the diastolic number is often high even during rest.

If the diastolic blood pressure is 60 mmHg or less, then it is considered low.

Whereas, if it is more than 110 mmHg, then it is considered as high diastolic blood pressure. If your diastolic blood pressure reading is consistently low or high, you should visit a doctor.

What is the range of blood pressure?

Blood pressure can be understood in 6 stages on the basis of category?

1. General-

The first stage of blood pressure is considered the normal stage. In this stage, systolic blood pressure is less than 120 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure is less than 80 mm Hg.

2. Increased blood pressure-

In the second stage of blood pressure, the reading of systolic pressure is continuously from 120 to 129 mm Hg and the reading of diastolic pressure is less than 80 mm Hg. This is considered high blood pressure, but it falls under the category of mild high blood pressure. If someone is in this stage, then he is more at risk of getting high blood pressure.
