If you are having trouble with your morning routine, then you may need to find new ways to reinvent how you begin your day. Here are some steps that you can take to improve your entire outlook from the start.

Meditate When You Wake Up

When you first get up in the morning, you may want to look at your phone screen or jump into your responsibilities for the day. Take a few minutes after you open your eyes to do a quick meditation. You can choose your style and length, whether it be repeating a mantra that you will stick to during the day, or simply clearing your head to prepare it for maximum creativity and input from others. Meditation is a wonderful way to reduce stress levels and to structure your life, so that it feels organized rather than chaotic.

Make a Delicious Shake or Smoothie

Sometimes if you do not have time to eat breakfast, you may be tempted to go to work or school without it and wait until lunch. However, you can easily remedy this problem with a smoothie or a shake, which contains all of your vital nutrients that will help get you through to your next meal. Blend together a green smoothie that has fruit flavors and healthy greens such as spinach and kale, or make a shake that includes protein powder, milk, and other staple ingredients like peanut butter or bananas. You can put your drink in a blender bottle or a thermos to enjoy it on the go.

Loosen Your Joints with Stretches

If you want to feel limber and ready to conquer whatever the day throws at you, then you should immediately do some stretches once you roll out of bed. You can either find stretches that work for whatever ailments you suffer from, or simply do a set combination of yoga poses that will help your body to feel more balanced, as well as stabilize your mind. Regularly stretching has been shown to increase blood circulation and improve both your physical and mental well being. You can try popular yoga poses or stretches, until you find a routine that works best for what you think your body needs.

Avoid Looking at Screens for a While

With the escalation of digital interactions and the pace of our lives increasing exponentially, you may feel an urge to glance at your phone, check your emails or social media, or respond to text messages right away. However, it is much better for your mental health to focus on things other than your screen at the beginning of your day. If you want to engage with an activity and get your mind moving, try something like a crossword or sudoku puzzle, or do a creative skill, like writing or drawing. You can adjust to your day without feeling the rush of technology, and ease better into the tasks you need to complete.

Listen to Uplifting Content on Your Way to Work

Many commuters love to catch up on the radio or music while driving or using public transportation to begin their day. If you are getting bored with your usual regimen, then you may want to consider switching to a podcast or audiobook. There are many types of podcasts based on the taste of every listener. Find a handful of podcasts that you will enjoy catching up on every few days during your commute. You can also curate a great selection of audiobooks, whether purchased or borrowed from your local library. You will never be short of inspirational material that will put you in the best mindset for your day.

You do not need to be immediately stressed out or harried when you wake up in the morning. With these tips, you will be able to formulate a routine that works best for your health, as well as make your mornings an enjoyable experience.
