Print-On-Demand Business: Lesson 1.

Introduction, What is Print-on-demand?, Is it worth it?

By Beth M.Published 4 years ago 3 min read

Welcome, Lesson 1: Introduction.

So, you have (or have never) heard about this thing called print-on-demand (POD). I'm going to be sharing with you exactly what print-on-demand is, and, by the end of this course, you'll see why I think it's so awesome and why you should start doing it.

Let's first start off with what exactly is print-on-demand. Print-on-demand is simply taking your design (picture, message, funny wording, drawing) and you place it onto an item (t-shirt, hoodie, phone cases, mugs, and many more items that we will talk about later in this course) that is connected to whatever store (we will talk about store later in this course) you sell at and then when someone purchases it, your print-on-demand provider actually makes the item and ships it for you. Yeah, I know it sounds great and maybe a little too good to be true but it's actually legit.

Let's get into some more details. First off, you have to, of course, make a design(I'll show you how to make easy and original designs later in this course). This design should be your own and not be off Google and it also should also be copyright free.

After making the design, you're going to log on to whatever website or company that you use for your print-on-demand, you're going to pick your item that you want to put your design on and you're going to sync that up to the store that you want to sell these items on(I'll show you how later in this course).

Once you have your design on your item then it is synced to your shop or wherever you are selling, whenever someone purchases that item your print provider takes the item (shirt, socks, hoodie, phone cases, caps, pet hoodies, mugs, sweatshirts, etc.) and they make it for you and then they actually ship it for you. That's right, you do not need inventory or stock to start this business. You just need your original designs and crazy marketing (we'll talk about that later in the course).

With print-on-demand, it's not like any other business. In any other business, we have print-on-demand pros and cons. But, for print-on-demand there are no cons:

Pros

  1. It is an amazing source of passive income. You do have some upfront work of creating the designs and obviously building and marketing your brand. But, when someone orders your item you could literally be in your sleep making money.
  2. You do not have to worry about making the items (no need to invest in big printing machines), storing the items, and shipping them. All that is done for you. No more losing money in business because you bought excess stock.
  3. Print-on-demand makes it so easy. They take all of the hard work and they just allow you to be creative, put your designs out there and create something cool, and then they do all the hard business type work. You basically get paid to be creative and have crazy marketing skills!!!

When I found out about it I thought it was too good to be true, I had to go and check it out for myself. I've been doing it for over a year now and I recommend it to so many different people. I personally think that print-on-demand is an amazing way to go. Do not believe the lies that it is a saturated market, there are still a lot of people out there that don't know about print-on-demand and how amazing it is. I have so many friends and family members that I have told about this and they're always shocked about it.
