Verizon is one of the most popular webmail services on the planet. They are used in different regions of the world even though they shut their servers down a couple of years back.

In today’s blog, we will be discussing steps on how you can setup your Verizon email on MS Outlook. But before we begin, make sure that you configure the incoming and outgoing Verizon mail servers correctly.

Steps to Setup Verizon Email on Outlook

  • Launch the MS Outlook email client program on your laptop or your computer by clicking on the icon if you have set up a short cut for it. You can use the alternate method by opening the “all programs” list.
  • After you are done with the launch of the program, you need to click on the tool or the file option that is available on the top-left corner of your screen to further broaden the "files group".
  • From there, you will need to click on info. You will now see a list of options popping up on your screen. Click on account settings from all the given options.
  • Now choose the email tab option from a small wizard box that pops up on your screen.
  • Now from the email tab click on new. This will lead to the launch of another wizard by the name of “add new account”.
  • You will need to enter your necessary details in the “auto account setup” window. Click on the “email account” option to carry out this option.
  1. Enter your appropriate name in the name field.
  2. Enter your Verizon email address correctly in the email address field.
  3. Enter the Verizon account password carefully in the password field.
  4. Now re-enter the password in the retype password field to confirm the password.
  • Once you enter all the details correctly, click on the option that says “manual setup or additional server types” by tapping on it. Now hit next to move on to the “choose server” page.
  • Now find and click on the “internet email” option from the choose server page and click on next.

A window with the name “internet e-mail settings” will pop up. You have to enter the following email settings of your Verizon account in that window.

  1. User information- Type your correct name and your correct email address in the respective email and name field.
  2. Server information- You have to choose from IMAP or POP3 for the account type field. Enter the incoming mail server field with pop.verizon.net for POP3 and imap.aol.com for IMAP. Enter smtp.verizon.net for both IMAP and POP3 in the outgoing mail server text field.
  3. Logon information- You will need to enter the email address and your account password for Verizon email in the given respective fields.
  • Tick check for the “remember password” and the “requires logon using secure password authentication” options, both of which are available on the bottom left side of your screen.
  • Next, click on the “more settings” option to visit the next page where you will have to choose the "outgoing servers tab" to configure the following;
  1. You will need to tick mark the “my outgoing server requires authentication” option.
  2. Next up, agree to the “use same settings as my incoming mail server” option.
  • Now click on the Advanced button to open the advanced tab to enter the correct port settings given below;
  1. The incoming server for POP3-You will use 995
  2. The incoming server for IMAP-You will use 993
  3. The outgoing server-Use 465 for this
  4. Encryption connection type-SSL

Now test the account settings by going to the previous window and clicking on next. This will determine whether or not you have successfully configured your Verizon email account server settings. Click on next and finish to complete the Verizon email setup if the test shows nothing.
