How To Reset AirPods?

The entire process is quite simple and would allow you to factory reset AirPods.

Reset Method For IOS

Step 1

Put your AirPods in the charging case. You should ensure that the lid is closed as well.

Step 2

Wait for 30 seconds at a minimum. Open the lid that will allow you to connect the AirPods to your iPhone or iPad.

Step 3

Go to Settings -> Bluetooth and tap the blue i icon next to your AirPods.

Step 4

Tap Forget This Device, and tap again to confirm.

Step 5

Now open the lid of your case. Press the button on the back of the case for at least 15 seconds. The status light should now flash amber, then white.

Step 6

They have been reset. You can now connect again with your AirPods in your charging case and the lid should be open.

While reconnecting, you can follow the generic instructions on your device.

Reset Method For Android Users

For Android users, the first two steps remain the same. Then you may follow the following steps

Step 3

Go to Settings -> Connected Devices. Tap on the cog icon next to your AirPods.

Step 4

Now, tap Forget and then Forget device to confirm.

Now moving forward, steps 5 to step 7 remain the same for Android users as well.

How To Reset AirPods Max?

If you are using AirPods Max, the above steps may not be useful to you. The reason is that it does not involve any charging case.

Step 1

Unpair the AirPods Max from your device like any other model.

Step 2

If the AirPods Max are connected and the iPhone is running iOS 16, open Settings then select your AirPods Max.

Step 3

You can Tap the More icon, the lowercase i inside a circle, next to the AirPods Max. Tap Forget This Device once more to confirm the unpairing.

However, if your device is not iOS 16, open Settings -> Bluetooth, and then the lowercase i inside the circle next to the AirPods Max. Tap Forget This Device once more to confirm.

Step 4

Locate the Digital Crown and noise control buttons, and hold them down for approximately 15 seconds until the nearby status light flashes amber and then white.
