Don't Get Angry

Though Anger Is Considered Energy By Many

An Ai Image By The Author

Introduction

I don't do anger and I don't do stress. I have written many times before about these two things which I believe are negative energies, although I am of the belief that they can be tempered into forces for positivity.

The Public Image Limited song "Rise" contains the refrain:

"Anger Is An Energy"

in one of their most uplifting songs and it was the name of one one of John Lydon's autobiographies, but I have chosen the even clearer enunciated cover of the song by Ade Edmondson's Bad Shepherds from their album "Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera!".

Why I Don't Stress Or Get Angry

I do get annoyed and I know things can go wrong and cause worry.

If I am going into a situation that could be stressful, like things that are happening this week, I prepare for possible problems, but do not assume that will happen.

I call it the "spare-tyre syndrome". You never want to use a spare tyre but you carry one (or equivalent) on every journey you make in case of a puncture. You cannot predict when a puncture or other problem will occur, but it is good to have some form of backup to deal with it.

Going back to anger, you are often told to "not get angry" when someone has done you or someone else wrong. I will not tolerate bullying at all.

However when I get annoyed with someone or some organisation, and turn that feeling into motivation to improve the situation for me and others.

Take our beloved platform Vocal. There are lots of issues that they promised to address by "putting them on the roadmap" and I see a lot of anger when certain creators don't get their own way. In the beginning I believed they would do something, and sometimes they actually do, but most of the time is is adding some unneccessary feature to the platform.

So while slightly annoyed, I do not get angry.

I produce stories with suggestions for improvements, usually very simple, and I also look for wporkarounds to give me what I want out of the system, and I do make these things happen.

Vocal tell me to keep submitting ideas and tell me how impressed they are with my ideas, but as yet I don't think they have implemented any, although a couple of my pieces have been included in Resources and I was rewarded well financially for those. The Resources link is below.

This si a collection of my suggestions for Vocal and Creators, to help them improve where they need to.

These are some very simple improvements that Vocal could implement on the fly as they use functions that Vocal already has implemented, but as yet it is just tumblewed time, meaning that very often I am unable to find out how many reads a particular story has. Remember hearts do not correlate with reads.

As you can, see, I have motivated myself to do something about the situation. I am still annoyed that Vocal are apparently doing nothing (there are supposedly four new Communities being chosen, but the platform still has issues) but I am not angry. I am looking for ways that I can improve my own Vocal environment, and hope that one day they will implement some of my ideas.

Conclusion

My philosophies are "Be Prepared For Problems But Never Assume The Will Happen" and the energy that feeds anger will be better utilised firing your motivation to get a positive outcome.

Thank you so much for reading, your continual support is an inspiration that helps fire my creativity.

Anger is a negative and wasted emotion, Better to put up your feet, turn up the volume, and let the frustrations melt away in music,

Sound advice. There have been times in the past I've let my frustrations with Vocal affect my mood, but in the long run, I choose to be here and if I need a break, I take it.

I seldom get angry (like once every few decades), but when I do, look out. Cool (headed) article. See what I did there?! Enjoyed it. Typo - "wporkarounds" Cheers!

I do get angry a lot but I don't think I've ever been angry at Vocal before though
