1. What is hair transplant?

Hair transplant is a permanent solution to the problem of hair fall. Hair transplantation allows natural looking hair to grow on thinned or transplanted areas of the scalp.

During a hair transplant, the surgeon removes hair grafts from good areas of dense growth and carefully implants them into the recipient area. Since the first Best hair transplant in Delhi , the procedure has been progressively improved and now uses micrografts, which are processed under a microscope.

Helps create a natural hairline and properly grafts into areas of thinning hair, improving the longevity and stability of transplanted hair.

2. Who is a good candidate for hair transplant?

Men and women with the following conditions may be ideal candidates for a hair transplant.

  1. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) with good donor sites
  2. Thinning hair or female pattern baldness
  3. Male pattern baldness,
  4. Hair loss due to trauma, accident, burns or scars.
  5. However, the following two criteria must be met in order to be considered for a hair transplant. There should be enough healthy hair on the scalp that can be removed to be transplanted into the recipient areas. Hair may grow in thinner areas of the scalp.

Your dermatologist will verify the above two criteria through a detailed examination of the scalp. The dermatologist will also order a blood test to find out the exact cause of the hair loss. Scalp biopsy is another test that is done to determine the health of the scalp.

After a detailed evaluation and examination, your dermatologist will decide whether you are suitable for a hair transplant and will discuss the goals and outcomes of the hair transplant.

3. What happens during a hair transplant?

Hair transplant surgeon in Delhi involves the administration of a local anesthetic that numbs the scalp. The entire process can take up to four to eight hours. And, if you have a large transplant area, you may need additional seating.

There are two types of hair transplant methods adopted in India.

Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS) or Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

The main concept remains the same in both the methods, except the variables of methodology, duration and outcome.

The surgeon will guide you through the following steps during the hair transplant operation. The surgeon removes healthy hair from the donor site. In the case of FUE, the surgeon trims the healthy hair before removing the individual hairs.

In FUT, the entire strip of coarse hair is removed.

In FUT, sections of skin are sealed with stitches. FUT hair strips are prepared and trimmed according to the donor site.

At the same time, the donor site is prepared and the individual hairs or sections of hair removed are placed on the baldest areas of the scalp.

After the transplant, the scalp will be covered with gauze and bandages.

Excessive hair loss is a common side effect of hair transplantation.

Hair thinning can occur due to vascular rupture and surgical trauma in the donor area (where the active hair follicles are removed). Hair loss is more common with follicular unit extraction (FUE) than with follicular unit transplant (FUT) because the graft is larger. Furthermore, FUE causes permanent hair loss while FUT reverses hair loss after downtime following surgery.

Comment. If you are using minoxidil, stop using it until the area has healed.
