You wanted to beat the procrastination. But first, it was too cold, then came the scorching heat. After that, the holiday season started, then the teapot boiled and you had to make some tea. You guessed it, this means procrastination - postponing another time.

Many psychologists call it "the disease of contemporaneity." Don't confuse it with rest. Rest charges your batteries, while procrastination squeezes you out of the last remnants of energy.

Don't confuse it with laziness. The lazy do not want to do anything and do not move a finger. The procrastinator wants to do it but fails. The causes are very simple: the fear of failure, of appreciation, of colossal possibilities, and as a result, the paralysis of decisions, perfectionism, self-doubt.

Next, you will read some effective methods of combating "leaving today for tomorrow" and postponing it.

Method no. 1: Make a numbered list of everything you have to do

Write them down on paper or mobile apps of all kinds. You will have a pleasant surprise after you compile the list: you will find that there is not so much to do!

You had them in mind in the form of a chaotic pile of things, which scared you, but beautifully laid out on paper, they became simple. By the way, compiling the list is a concrete thing, which you will not postpone.

So hurry up until you are overwhelmed by the urge to enjoy a tea and:

Method no. 2: Make a list right now!

Another victory! You have completed the work and every time you do this, a feeling of satisfaction and a positive experience awaits you that you can still do something.

Method no. 3: Set your priorities

The most urgent and important - at the top of the list, and the long-term ones - below, but not forgotten!

Method no. 4: Just do what you love

Take the list and say out loud "I want to," reading each task in turn. Keep the ones you want, and exclude all the others. It is clear that we all want to eat, but not everyone has a dream job. Here we use our imagination.

Admittedly, the list includes "doing sports", but you can't take the first step. Or it is painful, boring, and difficult… Instead, you like to enter the glittering room, with energetic music and nice, positive, and open people, with whom you can meet, you will improve your self-confidence with the first results of training! You've already known what you want to do about training. Focus on this. Keep repeating yourself for what you're doing.

Method no. 5: Analyze more deeply

Why are you constantly postponing something concrete? Reasons can be of 2 types: rational and irrational. If you have not yet ruled out the point "I want to become a cosmonaut" just because you do not have the required physical skills (then how to go to the gym tomorrow I have already written here) - this is a rational reason. Then, above the point about the cosmonaut, we write an even higher priority - to start doing the morning refreshment - 15 minutes.

If it prevents you from becoming a cosmonaut for fear that you will be ridiculed from the start, then this is an irrational reason. In this case, everything is simple: once they are aware, the reasons go away on their own. You realize that they have no value and it was said to them.

Method no. 6: One new thing per day

Don't start all at once! Do something important on the list every day. In a week, if you've done a great job with 1 task, then try to do 2 a day. And never - never argue with yourself if you couldn't accomplish everything you planned. Just take a step back. Approach the situation calmly. The overall goal is to set in motion the mechanism "to accomplish what you have in mind." But all parts of the mechanism rusted, which was to be expected. Be more tolerant of yourself.

Method no. 7: Praise and rewards

Be sure (!) To make a gift for what you have made! You deserved a walk, a favorite movie before bed. Anything. Motivate yourself, encourage yourself. If you find yourself accusing yourself of doing something wrong, then avoid it. Go for a walk, take a nap, exercise. After that, with new strength, you get to work.

Method no. 8: Filter the vocabulary

Forget the expressions "I'll do it later," "later," "tomorrow." Generally, exclude them forever.

The Roman philosopher Seneca warned: "As we postpone life to another time, it passes us by." If it's hard to make a choice - examine, think, but be sure to take the LITTLE step!

Remember that at the end of life, people regret what they did not do the most. Before! Do not be afraid to make mistakes, it is useful and useful for those who know how to learn from their own experience and learn the lessons of life.

I mean, for everyone.
