6 Things I Learned From Someone Who Actually Manifests
You can start today.
Manifestation is for everyone, just ask Oprah!
Popular books like The Secret, or a glance at nearly anything written by spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle, point towards the power of the mind. Practices like mindfulness are experiencing a resurgence as we find the popular meditation app Headspace sharing it’s content on Netflix. We are witnessing an age within which we find we need a little more help making life sweeter, and we’re learning more and more that the help we need is inside of us.
Cast aside the idea that you need to be psychic or practice witchcraft, manifesting is a magic you can do any time you want.
The fact that you're reading this right now is already a good step towards manifesting, because manifesting starts with your mindset.
Here's 6 things I learned from a dear friend who manifests regularly - and actually sees results:
You need to practice.
I understand that it may be frustrating to not see immediate results and reap immediate benefits however, like all finely honed skills, you must take the time to practice your manifesting - dedicate time each day to manifest what you desire - either before breakfast, on your lunch break, or before you go to sleep. Create a daily practice.
Be assertive.
Uncertainty, or a feeling that you don't deserve what you'd like to manifest, is going to hinder your success while manifesting. You need to be assertive with your request, and strong willed in your desire.
Be specific, set parameters.
If you don't have a clear image of what you want, then how are you supposed to ask the universe for it? You'll notice your results shining through if you ask for something specific, and even moreso if you set time parameters. For example: "Universe, I need to see more flowers in my life sometime this week." That states exactly want you want (flowers), how you want them (to see them), and when you want them (some time this week).
Get to a grounded space.
An anxious environment, hurried ask, or nervous whisper won’t be heard. As part of creating this a daily practice, creating a space for you to do your manifesting is a great idea. An altar table, a good patch of grass outside, or a cozy corner of your couch, are all acceptable places! You'll want to choose a place that's comfortable, quiet, and grounding. You'll know a place is grounding when you feel at peace, nestled in, and you find yourself taking a deep breath.
You have to be truly invested.
Beautiful things don't like to be questioned. If you start to manifest just to test it, you won't see any results. You need to know that this will work for you, you need to know you deserve these results, and you deserve to ask for what you desire. Invest your full belief in your own abilities to draw what you want to you.
Show gratitude.
Above all, the most important thing I was taught was that you need to show gratitude to the universe. Show gratitude for what you've been given already, for hearing you, and for what it's about to do for you.
Whether you've tried it before, or believe in it or not, manifesting is truly just good for you. Giving yourself the time to sit, think about the things you want, and imagine yourself having them is a great way to really assess the things that you want out of your life. All too often, we find ourselves being a sort of bystander to our own lives, waiting for the good things to come. Practicing manifesting will allow you to, at the very least, take some time out of your day to feel grounded, relaxed, and maybe in a little more control of your side of the universe.
