Before and after war
We sing it, sing it to the west,
A poem to poetry
The poem before and after war
To poetry we sing it
In a rhyme
A poem we sing it
Only a poem we sing it
We do not want war
An end to war
We want peace
For war we are forced
A poem we sing it
And poetry we sing it
Only a poem we sing it
Before and after war
Why war?
Why the three categories? They could be further divided, as I suggested:
War: Collateral damage of war, dead non-combatants or civilians; murder of civilians, which is war’s unspoken rule; killing; invasions and the seizing of resources; forced extraction of resources, causing death and impoverishment of people; death of women, children and infants; slavery; occupying and occupying with weapons of war. War’s rules of engagement make us see war as ugly and barbaric. War is ugly, brutal, cold-blooded and hateful.
Wars: War is organized; war is cruel. War is invasions, looting, destruction, occupation and aggression. War has rules. The rules are set and formed. They are known to war leaders, especially national leaders. War has rules of engagement that kill; steal; deny people life and livelihood; kill non-combatants, civilians, war refugees, peace activists, and innocent civilians; seize resources and life. War kills us; it kills future generations and alters the future, as the next war is inevitable. War’s rules of engagement are death, destruction and war’s unspoken rules. War laws make war despicable, cruel and inhumane. War laws come out of war. War laws could be dangerous and deadly, especially when war laws are passed; if we ignore war laws and rules, war is unwarranted; it is senseless. War laws are war crimes. War laws rule the war; they could lead us to war crimes, such as war crimes of slavery and mass murder.
War: The slaughter of non-combatants, the unjust war; the slaughter of women and children, men and babies. We know war is barbaric and that it is unspeakably cruel.
War: Killing and destruction with weapons of war, the banned weapons of war and illegal weapons of war. Weapons of war are prohibited; war is illegal. This is war’s secret. Weapons of war are the illegal weapons of war. War has banned weapons of war and outlawed weapons of war. Weapons of war are the banned weapons of war; they kill; they destroy; they steal; they kill non-combatants; steal; kill the civilian population; make the civilians desperate, afraid and angry; and make us desperate, fearful and angry. Weapons of war cause death, destruction, blood and fire. War’s banned weapons of war are outlawed weapons; they are weapons of death. Weapons of war are taboo; war is taboo. Weapons of war are prohibited weapons, outlawed weapons. Weapons of war kill; they steal; they steal. Weapons of war are prohibited; war is taboo. War’s prohibited weapons of war have to be removed from war, banned weapons. Weapons of war are illegal; war is taboo. War has prohibited forbidden weapons of war and outlawed prohibited weapons. Weapons of war are prohibited weapons; war is taboo. War makes forbidden weapons of war deadly weapons; war makes forbidden weapons of war the most deadly weapons. War is war’s outlawed weapons. War makes forbidden weapons of war a threat, a weapon that may be used for war crimes; in fact, war makes forbidden weapons of war a part of war. War laws make war forbidden weapons of war. War laws make war forbidden weapons, banned weapons. War is forbidden.
When war rules; war rules our minds and our actions; when war rules the rules of engagement, we can rule the people.
War: Why war? War is harsh; war is violent. War makes people hate the people. War makes war bad. War is evil, cruel and ugly. War is oppressive, cruel and devastating. War is cruel and deadly, that’s why war is a tragic, cruel and oppressive way. War is violent; war is terrifying and appalling. War makes the people to kill themselves; war is wicked, cruel, shocking and unthinkable. War is cruel, that’s why war is violent. War is immoral. War is vicious, evil, brutal, vicious and disgusting, that’s why war is vicious. War is a criminal, immoral and barbaric way of killing; war is a crime, immoral and immoral.
