This is what you can do to get more reads!
“How do I get more reads?”
It’s one of the most asked question on Vocal. How do I get more reads on Vocal? There’s a lot of easier ones and some that do take a lot of effort. How Vocal works, the more reads you get, the more money you get. Being a plus member on Vocal gives you higher pay, a lower payout threshold and unlimited entry to their challenges.
Being a plus member dosen’t mean more reads. I think you will need to get at least a thousand reads or more a month to get the premium membership worth it.
In my last post, I wrote about why you’re not getting any reads. Every problem has a solution. So today, I can show you how to get more reads. It takes a lot of skills, patience and perseverance to write, but once you get into it, it’s one of the most rewarding hobbies there is. Writing on Vocal has been a great way to boost my income, and build my writing portfolio. I know I’ve vented about the site, but I think if I didn’t care about the site, I wouldn’t say it.
1. Writing something you’re passionate about! If you write about something you are passionate about, eventually you will find some readers who also share the same passions as you.
2. Crossposting on other sites. Medium has a really nice feature that lets you import your work from other sites. Vocal articles import really nicely on there.
3. Adding links in your profiles. On a lot of online profiles there will be a place where you can put a link to your main site. This is a good place to put your own blog site.
4. Keeping a routine. Keeping a routine helps me get stories out often. Regular content can translate into regular readers.
5. Write what interests you. If you write about things that interest you, you have a better chance of being noticed by people who share the same interests as you.
6. Sharing your work on social media. Vocal gives you the option to share your work on Facebook and Twitter, but there are other sites like Discord servers, Quora spaces and even Tumblr.
7. Creating a business card for your blogs. This one costs a bit of money, but will be really good if you are at events.
8. Do read for reads. You’ll be surprised at how many people will be up for this.
9. Promoting your work on self-promo threads. Some groups and chat groups will have their own server or special threads for promo day. One group I am in do promo links on a Tuesday.
10. Collaborating with others. Another way to attract more readers is collaborating with others. If you are lucky, you may end up collaborating with a brand, but other authors might be good as well.
11. Import works to other sites. Medium does a good job of this.
12. Format your work. A little bit of formatting and images makes all the difference.
13. Enter challenges.
14. Talk about it.
15. Group chats.
16. Search engine optimization.
17. Building a social media presence.
18. Having a presence offline.
19. Making goals to be more accountable.
20. Carry on writing.
21. Ask! There is no harm in asking.
22. Read and give feedback on others.
These are my suggestions on getting more reads. Some of these might work really well for you whereas others might not. Hope you find it useful.
