Hey, It’s EDB, that’s Erik DeSean Barrett; it’s 2023!! Happy Freakin New Year. I would like to continue the tradition of hoping your year is full of dreams, goals, and personal -and- professional growth; but let’s be real, them sticking resolutions are designed for most as a setup for failure. I remember, way back yonder, hearing Steve Harvey, kick off the new year, but claiming he was making conclusions, not resolutions. So what are we concluding, for 2023?

After after a fifth straight loss, Sunday to the Patriots!! (23-14) Is is safe to conclude the MiamiDolphins season is now over? Or should I hold one more week? #MIAvsNE.

We came out the gate, (The Dolphins) looking like one of the NFL's best teams, rockin an 8-3 record, but now, with Tua unable to get too it, the squad has fallen to 8-8and in danger of missing the playoffs. So here’s what’s we can conclude. We gotta get over our anger for Josh Allen. PUSH HIM (JA) to kick Double B, and his patriots ass, while also kicking the dog shit, outta the Jets. That will get them to the wildcard, which then gets them back to TUA….. So we can stay calm, no one is dead yet, Unless You’re Russian…

The final weekend of 2022, found Pavel Antov, sausage executive, a man who had reportedly expressed a dangerous lack of enthusiasm for Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine, dead at a hotel in India, just two days after one of his Russian travel companions died at the same hotel. The meat millionaire and his also-deceased friend are the most recent additions to a macabre list of people who have succumbed to Sudden Russian Death Syndrome, a phenomenon that has claimed the lives of a flabbergastingly large number (almost two dozen) of businessmen, bureaucrats, oligarchs, and journalists. This year’s spate of deaths—so brazen in their number and methods is quite possibly Putin’s way of warning Russia’s elites “Don’t Fuck with Me, or I will end you!!”

Speaking of Ending.. California is about that end Gun Sales Life. As of Yesterday (Jan 1, 2023) Californians can sue anyone who makes, distributes or sells guns in violation of state laws. SB 1327 authorizes anyone other than state or local government officials to sue people who violate the state's laws against the manufacture, distribution or sale of assault weapons, ghost guns and other banned firearms. Lawsuits could also be brought against gun dealers who violate the state's law against selling or transferring weapons (besides hunting rifles)👈🏾(How bout that Loophole) to anyone under 21 years old.

Speaking of Under 21, and Dangerous. NYC, didn’t escape 2022 without a feelin poopy. The corner of Eighth Avenue and West 52nd Street shortly after 10 p.m. witnessed a 19 year old, Trevor Bickford of Wells, Maine tried to strike his head with a machete before hitting two other officers in the head, culminating in an officer shooting Trev in the shoulder. The good news is, no one died, everyone soon will be back on their feet, and the world, at least here, will move on, and most importantly grow on, a million people grow on..

The world population is projected to be 7.9 billion people on New Year's Day 2023, with 73.7 million people added since New Year's Day 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau said Thursday. During January 2023, 4.3 births and two deaths are expected worldwide every second, the Census Bureau said. The U.S. population on New Year's Day 2023 is projected to be 334.2 million people, with 1.5 million people added since New Year's Day 2022, or an increase of just under a half percent. The U.S. is projected to have a birth every nine seconds and a death every 10 seconds in January 2023. Net international migration is expected to add a person to the U.S. population every 32 seconds. The combination of births, deaths and net international migration increases the U.S. population by a person every 27 seconds, according to the Census Bureau.

BACK in NYC. The first legal dispensary for recreational marijuana rung up its first sales on Thursday, opening up what is expected to be one of the country’s most lucrative markets for cannabis. The lower Manhattan store is the first of 36 recently licensed dispensaries to open, with an additional 139 licenses yet to be issued by the state Office of Cannabis Management and 900 applicants still awaiting word.

Finally today with our #HomieOfTheDay Rep.-elect Maxwell Alejandro Frost, The 25-year-old Florida Democrat soon to represent Florida's 10th Congressional District. He’s out here in these streets, struggling to survive. He hasn’t been sworn in to Congress yet, but he’s already clapping back at bad-faith tweets posted by the Republican Party. Frost will earn $174,000 as a congressman, that won’t kick in until weeks after he’s sworn in to office; until then he’s forced to hump it.. I considered Frost, because his success means all of us, taking on the system. Max, you need to win, WE NEED YOU TO WIN, and we believe you will win…

UNTIL NEXT TIME.. ➖EDB
