Friending and Remembering
TW: this piece contains mention of suicide. --- The year is 2008 and I'm standing in my town's ice skating rink in a Tony Hawk hoodie. I can see my breath floating out in front of me and solemnly toward the ceiling with each new exhale. I'm in the long adjoining room beside the main rink and I'm frozen meekly beside a vending machine equipped with Cup O' Noodles. Veronica is standing across the room from me and she looks as nervous to approach me as I do her.

Halloween 2023
Halloween 2023 was so much fun, even after a lackluster October. Since David and I were planning for the Ren Faire and for our cosplays, most of my October focus went to our anniversary. It wasn't a bad thing, but I made sure to use the final days of October to focus on Halloween fun.

2023 Happiness Box Project
I have written a little bit about my Happiness Box Project already. This idea started in the summer of 2015, but started as, "Oh, let me try a Happiness jar in 2016!" I tried it, but failed: the jar didn't hold much. In December 2016, after receiving a sweater for the holidays, I had a novel idea. Since the sweater came in a big box, I could try a Happiness Box for 2017!
