Side hustles, also known as side gigs, can be a great way to pay off debt or earn more money on the side. They can also be a means to tap into unused skills and explore your passions. If you really want to get creative, you can use a unique side hustle that you enjoy and use it as a testing ground for a business idea.

Are you looking for a ready-made online side hustle? Or maybe a gig you can use to create a niche for yourself outside of your full-time job? Then you’ve come across the right blog. I will give you some online side gig ideas to think about.

Virtual Assistant

Do you enjoy writing, social media, and blogging, but don’t want to start your own blog? You can find virtual assistant jobs where you help other people run their sites and social media accounts. Depending on the amount of time you have, this side hustle could even become a full-time gig.

You can check out websites like Upwork to become a VA. Most businesses have some sort of online presence, and this is only increasing. From social media pages to email to websites; businesses are constantly migrating into the online space. With more happening online, there is an increased need for digital help.

A client may be great with email marketing but not so great with social media. This is an excellent opportunity for you to come in and offer your assistance for income. By becoming a Virtual Assistant you can make a client's life easier by providing services in fields that they don’t have a lot of knowledge in or don’t have time for. This helps them balance the workload, and making their life easier. While at the same time making this side gig a strong source of income for you.

Teach English Online

You can teach English or any other language online. There are some major online teaching companies that require a degree, and there are others that don’t. A TEFL certification will provide you with the training and qualification that you need without needing a degree.

PalFish is one of those companies that do not require a degree. It’s an app-based platform which means you need an iOS (Apple) or Android cell phone/tablet in order for this to work for you. With PalFish, you can teach both one-on-one and larger groups of students. Non-native English-speaking teachers are encouraged to apply. The company does not have any preference in regards to nationality for online ESL teaching positions.

Open English is another company you can teach through. This teaching platform is a great fit for those who currently have a busy schedule working or studying, and have availability during evenings hours (USA ET). Teachers must provide a minimum of 10 hours of availability each week.

At the same time, you can start a YouTube channel and upload videos teaching english or another language. The videos don’t have to be two hours long, they can just be a good enough length to attract people who want to learn. Then over time you can grow your channel and turn it into an income source as well.

Resume Help

You know the importance of submitting a good resume. You also know how hard it is to write a professional resume that can get you hired. That’s why a lot of people hire professional resume writers to write or edit theirs. This makes writing resumes a great side hustle to consider.

WriteZillas is one platform where you can get paid for creating resumes. According to the site, more than 100 new assignments come in daily, so there’s plenty of work available for writers. There isn’t much else on the site about the required qualifications, so feel free to apply and see if you’d be suited to work with the company.

Of course, Fiverr is another popular platform where you can set up a resume writing gig. Their forms make it easy to enter the details of your service, how much you charge, samples of your past works, and whatever else you want to add.

You can promote your Fiverr gig anywhere you like such as Craigslist, friends, family, on social media sites, your own website or blog, and so on. That said because this platform is so popular, sometimes you don’t even need to promote your gigs that much since it will naturally be seen by hundreds of thousands of Fiverr’s daily visitors. Then you can be earning a good amount while working from home.

Test Products

We all know that families can go through a lot of food and products. If you find yourself or a family member constantly trying out new soaps, snacks, or gadgets, why not consider getting paid for it? You can sign up with a brand or firm to become a product tester. Also, just testing all different kinds of websites as well can be an option.

Big-name brands like Johnson & Johnson and McCormick pay people to test their products, but you can also sign up through a market research firm like American Consumer Opinion. Also, I-Say by Ipsos is a must if you are considering becoming a product tester. You can receive high-paying product testing opportunities making over $100 and more.

UserTesting is another great website and app to gain money for testing websites. Although you won’t be testing physical products, it’s really fun, pays well and the range of sites you get to test keeps you entertained. You sign up and complete a test review.

If that all goes well you are then sent sites to review from time to time. You then get paid $10 to your PayPal for every review you do, with each one only taking around 20 minutes. This is something you can quickly do while relaxing on the couch or sitting outside enjoying the fresh air.

Run Your Own Podcast

Like most other side gig ideas, narrowing your niche enough to be unique without making it too limited to support your long-term goal, is the best way to pick your topic. For example, if you want to start a social media and mental health podcast, pick a sub-topic or a specific market, such as positivity for the youth or routines for a mental break; aimed at a young audience.

One other idea can just be you speaking your mind about something that has impacted or changed your life. You will be surprised at how many people will tune in because they will relate to your words and ideas. Affiliate marketing can also be a huge part of your income earnings when it comes to your podcast shows.

There are affiliate programs for nearly every popular product or service. Amazon is one of the more popular programs, or you can also join a network like ShareASale where you can search and apply to join specific programs. Setting up early connections to mention on your podcast would be wise. You can easily write a blog that directs people to your shows or use any other platform to spread the word and attract more people.

Always consider yourself before doing anything. Don’t just cling to one side hustle for the money because you might end up hating it. If you do hate it then drop it right away and try something else until you find what makes you feel good and earns you what you want/need. That is how we figure out what we like by trying different things. Your perfect side hustle job might be the next one you consider.

If you know exactly what you want and are looking to start your own side gig, then that is awesome. Of course, be sure to do a lot of research, and I hope the information I gave was a good start for you. There is no limit to what you can do in the near future. There are many possible side hustles with growth potential today.
