MY THOUGHTS ON THE CURRENT CIVILIAN CASUALTIES IN GAZA AND ISRAEL

INTRODUCTION:

As usual, this article is not to support any side of the current conflict ongoing in Gaza nor is this article based on any facts but reasoning based on information I have gathered over the past few weeks. My objective is to ask some questions and based on those questions, come up with a reasonable solution rather than taking any side.

I do not know what led to this ongoing conflict but what I know is, that Hamas (a group classified as a terrorist organization by some countries) started it by launching thousands of rockets into Israeli civilian settlements killing innocent Israeli citizens; Israel retaliated- according to them, by bombing Hamas' targets- followed by a full-scale ground attack on Gaza. This ongoing conflict has gotten out of hand, innocent citizens- especially women and children- are now the victims of this war.

First of all, I want to make it clear that I stand with INNOCENT CIVILIANS regardless of their religion and citizenship. With this in mind, I decided to ask a few questions and come up with a solution to help minimize the killings of INNOCENT CIVILIANS.

I do not know Hamas' operation neither do I know if they are a terrorist organization or if they are supported by INNOCENT CIVILIANS of Gaza/Palestine but one thing I know is, that Islam does not support the killings of the innocents neither do they support terrorist organizations; on the other hand, one thing I know is, Jewish/Christians do not also support the killings of INNOCENT CIVILIANS. With this in mind, let us find out what is happening by asking a few questions and finding solutions to this ongoing killing of INNOCENT CIVILIANS in Israel and especially in Gaza.

First of all, is Hamas recognized by the Palestinian authorities? If yes, it means this conflict is between Palestine and Israel but if no, it means this conflict is between Hamas and the Israeli Government because Israel has the right to protect its citizens. If Hamas isn't recognized by the Palestinian authorities and by the citizens of Palestine, all measures should be put in place by Israel to minimize CIVILIAN CASUALTY. If Hamas fighters are recognizable- with uniforms and bases- Israel should fight them head-on to minimize CIVILAIN CASULTY. From seasoning, I think if these were in place, the current killing of INNOCENT CIVILIANS would be less and this conflict wouldn't last for long. If it is the opposite, this conflict will last a bit longer, and more INNOCENT CIVILIANS will lose their lives.

WHAT TO DO TO MINIMISE INNOCENT CIVILIANS' CASUALTY?

If Hamas fighters are not recognizable and are included among INNOCENT CITIZENS, allow innocent citizens to leave the active fighting zone; this will minimize civilian casualties. I learned Israel allowed INNOCENT CIVILIANS to move to the south of Gaza but ground reports indicate that Israelis still hitting targets in the south and killing women and children; if this is true without any PROVOCATION from these affected areas in the south, Israel has broken internal law but if rockets were fired from these areas in the south killing or threatening the lives of Israelis, I think they have the right to protect themselves by hitting those targets. If there were suspected Militants in areas in the south that were hit by Israel without any direct provocation or threat to Israelis, I think Israel shouldn't have hit these areas considering the lives of INNOCENT PALESTAINIANS.

CONCLUSION: If war is the only solution to bring about peace, so be it; no one wins in an armed conflict, not even he who claims victory at the end. If peaceful resolution is the answer to LASTING PEACE IN GAZA, let it be. I believe Israelis and Palestinians should live in peace as brothers and sisters putting aside any religious differences; I stand with Palestine as much as I stand with Israel. I do not support radicle extremists with ideologies that are not befitting in our modern society and I know the Palestinian people also do stand for that. If Hamas is not recognized by the Palestinian people and authority, INNOCENT CIVILIANS should not serve as shields for Hamas leading to the increase in death that we are observing.
