If I Had More Time

I often think to myself, "If I had more time...", did you know that there is 86,400 seconds in a day? It seems like a lot, but let me tell you that it is not. I often ask myself, "Where did the time go? What did I do with that time? Did I take advantage with all the time that was given?'" Often times, the answer to those questions are most likely no. Why is that? I remember as a child I would often say, "I wish I was grown!" Sadly, you are an adult a lot longer than you are a child. As I write this article, it is the 30th day of 2021; ALREADY? Where did the time go?

As a single mom of two young men, I was working full-time jobs in order to make ends meet. By the time I got off work, got kids from daycare, cook dinner, help with homework, and getting ready for bed, etc., I was dog tired. I never had enough time to really spend with my children. Then they grew up, and didn't have time for me...then BOOM! My youngest son is murdered at 19 and I can't help but to think, "I didn't have enough time with my children". And that is time that I will never get back. My oldest son has children now, and I'm left thinking, "I want to see my grandchildren grow up, and spend as much time as I can with the son I have left".
