I am sure by now that you have heard the saying that "content is king." In fact, you have probably heard it a million times!

The truth is that you need to publish plenty of content if you want to grow your business. However, you can't just put out content just to do it. You need to make sure that each piece catches the attention of your audience.

That alone is a lot of pressure, let alone putting out multiple pieces of content daily, seven days a week. This can quickly become overwhelming. Lucky for you, you can repurpose your content (both old blogs and social media posts) to make them work as hard as possible for you.

What does it mean to repurpose your content?

Many people think that, when you repurpose content, you use it over and over in several places, from your website, blog, and social media. However, it is a little more than that.

You can't just write a blog and publish it on social media. You are going to want to make a few changes to each piece before you put it in a second (or even a third) location!

Why should you repurpose your content?

There are many benefits of repurposing your content. These include:

The ability to reach even more people. Many people only get content one way, so if you only give them one time of content (and it isn't one that they enjoy), they will never get to meet you. However, if you turn your blog into a video, you are just opening yourself up to that many new people. Also, some people are only on Facebook, while others mostly spend time on Twitter. If you don't hit both of them, you are just missing out on spreading the word about your business.

It also helps your content to be seen. Though you don't want to think about it, your content doesn't get seen by everyone that you want it to. However, if you put it on multiple streams (multiple times), you are going to reach a whole lot more people.

Repurposing content allows you to make the most out of your effort. It can take a lot of time and energy to come up with good content. If you are able to reuse them, you can get multiple pieces of content in one session, instead of having a session for Facebook posts and one for your blog.

The truth is that most of your content is still valuable and relevant. Good content is good for a very long time, which is why you can reuse the same old information over and over.

What are some easy ways to repurpose your content?

There are many ways to repurpose your content, quickly and easily. Here are some tips to help you get started.

With your blogs, you can easily repost some of your most popular content. If you talk to bloggers and marketers, they will let you know that they like "evergreen" pieces that never go out of style. They will also tell you that they will repost some of their best pieces in order to reach as many people as possible.

You can also update your blogs with more recent information. That being said, there are many pieces that could use some updating to make them fresh and new. You may want to put a spin on something that you wrote a few years old, or you may decide to write it from another angle.

Put some of your "evergreen blogs" into an e-book that you can give away or even sell. Many bloggers put multiple blogs together to make an e-book. They may decide to sell it in order to bring in some extra money, though they may also find that it helps them if they give it away!

You could turn your blogs into videos. Video blogging (shortened to vlogging) is an easy way to repurpose some of your older blogs that are still relevant. It will also help you reach people who prefer to watch videos instead of reading blogs.

Though some people may say that repurposing content is lazy, the truth is that it can really help you reach even more people! You will be able to reach the people who read blogs, use social media, and even those who like to watch videos. It doesn't take much extra work to do this either! Just a few adjustments and you can let a whole new audience learn about your business!
