Often, the businesses undertaking lift installations are not the most qualified to offer maintenance services.

Ask other local building owners and managers who they hire for lift maintenance and their experiences. While speaking with the lift firm, get references from other buildings they maintain in the area. Make careful to obtain and contact references for buildings with comparable or identical equipment to yours. Excellent elevator service providers have an average of one or fewer TSSA shutdowns per one hundred TSSA periodic inspections. Unless the TSSA issues a directive or shuts down an elevator, several firms will only bother arranging mandated elevator inspections. The average number of TSSA shutdowns per 100 TSSA periodic inspections is around four, which is rising. The building owner must guarantee that these periodic examinations are performed. Request that your maintenance provider demonstrates how you may monitor his work in the Log Book to verify that your elevator complies with the law.
