This week with Photography coming up on the Vocal Social Society Fab 5 rotation, I have become a little obsessed with all things visual: Artwork, Gifs, Memes, Illustrations and yes... you guessed it... Photography!
As I researched and reviewed, I found an article written by Rebecca Ivey that I shall describe as containing outstanding visual content. Please open up the link below and enjoy the beautiful pictures curated within it's content. We circulated this article to a few friends at the Vocal Social Society and they were in raptures over how beautiful it was.
From sprawling landscapes to incredible wildlife photos that you wouldn’t believe, drones allow us to see inspiring views that would otherwise be invisible to us. With more and more drones hitting the market, the potential is just increasing. I have searched the internet far and wide to see just how much beauty is in the world, hidden just out of sight. — Rebecca Ivey, The Magic of Drone Photography
Rebecca Ivey has crafted 167 articles for Vocal - many of them brilliant examples of how to use art, photographs and illustration in Vocal content. Please take a look at her profile. It is a veritable feast for the eyes!!
Rebecca achieved 3rd place in the True Crime Challenge for this piece of work. Again, beautifully and comprehensively illustrated....
Yes, of course, I love a good scary story but this mystery touches me on a personal level and I'm not quite sure why. I have spent countless hours studying the known facts. I made it my personal mission to learn as many details about the murder as possible. Who killed this beautiful woman? Why did they use such brutal methods; and why did they do it? — Rebecca Ivey, Who Killed Elizabeth Short?
Further examples of Rebecca's work to showcase her talent at illustration.
From Poets:
From Fiction:
"So big and juicy, you eat them with a spoon!"
"The sweet flavor, buttery texture, and extreme juiciness of these pears are what make them so delicious. The gold foil lets you know you're about to enjoy something amazing."

"What exactly is carrot bacon?"
Sliced thin (we love the Y-peeler for this), then marinated in a mixture of tahini, soy sauce, paprika, and maple syrup, the carrots are baked until crisp. The strips not only achieve a similar flavor and texture to bacon—minus the chewy fat—they even look bacon-y. We include liquid smoke in the recipe to make the carrot bacon smell and taste more authentic, but you can always leave it out.

VSS Weekly Community Rotations: For Your Diary!
"The Fab Five
What really sets the Vocal Social Society apart, however, is the weekly Fab Five Features. Throughout the week, Admin will be reading up a storm—both on our group and on Vocal—in search of unique voices. At the end of the week, we will highlight 5 fabulous stories and close the feeds for the entire weekend! During this time we ask that you provide feedback, reads and encouragement to these specific authors. And don’t worry! You don’t need to be perfect to be featured—that’s what a Top Story is for—no, on The Vocal Social Society we are about tiny wins.
Benefits of Being A Fab Five Nominee:
- Your story will be featured all weekend long to increase reads and engagement.
- Your story will be highlighted on our Instagram, and be forever linked to our Link In Bio Showcase.
Reasons 1 and 2 mean that you can turn around to your family and friends and bask in a little sunshine. Being a Fab Five proves you’ve earned some recognition from your peers, which you can then use to promote your work all over the web!
Additionally, The VSS recognizes effort, so from time to time we may post about authors we notice who are engaging well during the Fab Five Posts. These uplifting folks would also get a shout-out on our Instagram.
Finally, special events such as holiday themed creation prompts, coaching-corner, and various fun activities like 6 word stories will be added from time to time. With a focus on laughter, learning, and encouragement, The Vocal Social Society is the missing piece to your Vocal experience. Newsletter coming soon." — Call Me Les, on behalf of the VSS.
