We are now set up with a strong, innovative and committed team who share a passion for quality and sustainability with our customers. Over the last 12 years we have invested in and developed a strong reputation for excellence and superior service.

Our goal is to provide a farm as close to the land as possible, from the organic garden we currently have in our property to our farm equipment and crop management. We believe in organic farming because it is sustainable, has been around for millions of years and it is a proven method of producing food. The main ingredients used to produce our produce are certified organic feedstocks such as watermelons from Spain, grape vines from France and apples from the Far East.

We are a family owned business with an extremely strong family of farm hands. We are passionate about farming and it’s the most rewarding job in the world. We also enjoy training farm hands and growing and harvesting. It’s an investment of time, money and effort in the very best way. We are passionate about food and we love our farm. It’s why we make our farmers market offerings special and unique.

We produce our food by using organic and sustainable agricultural methods in order to sustain the well-being of our farmers and their families. We also run a small organic farm which allows us to have a very good balance between organic farming and our farming businesses. The farm is run by four people (men, women and children) who take a broad viewpoint on the farm and our work. We collaborate with the farmer’s family and the local community to help them decide the best course of action.

We sell to and in turn support around 40 local farmers and farmers' markets. We have a special interest in organic, organic related fields as we believe there is an opportunity to 'grow together' which is not always possible. Our aim is to build a permanent source of income with the aim of developing a sustainable farmers' market that is part of local communities.

We support our farmers in keeping healthy grass soil, good water quality and good moisture, to ensure that the soil is free of heavy fertilisers, pesticides and insecticides, as well as providing all the nutrition and natural products needed for a healthy crop. Our story began in the late 80s when I brought my family and friends over to a workshop and workshop in the back yard of a very successful family farm. The workshop was a quiet place, surrounded by nature and I was able to develop my passion for working with plants and animals. By the end of my time at the workshop, and after many years of trial and error, I had perfected my technique, and my skills had advanced.

Our story of farmers from all walks of life and many different backgrounds were woven together in our community garden and our farming practices in the community. Our goal is to provide a range of nutritious, high quality produce for the community and to ensure our community is given the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour. The Brown family have owned and run Petrotons Farm for many years and continue to grow the business through their ongoing passion and support and the community support.

Our story started when the Brown family moved to the area and tried to establish their long neglected vineyard. They opened the first Brown vineyard on a small lot in the village of Rosyth in 1844. This was followed by three more vineyards and a winery on the site. In 1935 when George Brown died his eldest sons, Charles and John took over the operation of Brown in a bid to establish a strong and respectable source of income.

Our story is about how we embrace our connection to the land and our diversity as a family. We’re all about conservation, and that’s what we’re about.

We are not the ‘big and good’ type of farm and are about delivering great value to our customers.
