"A long time ago when the earth was green, there were all sorts of animals you cold ever see. They romped around free while the earth was being born but the loveliest of them all was the Unicorn."

The morning drew on Jamie's mind. Quiet mornings were no longer a part of her days. Across the field, a family banged and yelled as the clouds crowded the skies. With a toss of her white mane, she slumbered past a pair of waiting porcupines.

"You're going the wrong way!", the pair yelled at her.

With a scuff from her snout, she pressed on down the path that led to the woods. The woods was full of chatter as the birds flew from limb to limb gossiping with each other. Jammie stopped and looked up in to the canopy and watched the birds fight to see who was making it on.

Her eyes widened as large beast passed by her making their way to the boat. Beast nodded their heads as they walked by in a gentle greeting. Jamie only turned a side eye at them and nodded a not so warm greeting. Her eyes searched the underbrush for her mate James to arrive.

The sun pushed through the gathering clouds and shown her where James stood amongst his family. She could see their expressions crowded their long faces. Their golden horns did not shine their brightness nor their magic flow from their ends. No, the day's clouds brought misery for the two chosen to get on the arch.

A crack of thunder shook the earth announcing it was time to go. Two by two animals passed. Tears were shed if they could. Tempers were rising as were the waters. Bugs clung to floating tree limbs hoping to survive the storm. Pelts of rain began to flow down Jamie's and James manes and they knew it was time to go.

With a slight glance over their shoulders, they bid their family good bye. Two by two they wandered with the others. Fear of the weather, caused a shiver to run over Jamie's fur. She shivered and took another step in line not watching where she was going.

Fire ate at Jamie's skin and she began to whinny in pain. She began to jump, prance and shake all around the grounds. James went to investigate his wife's behavior's and too began to jump around to everyone's surprise. The two lovely unicorns pranced their feet, then they began stamping hard on the ground. They screamed with each stomp they made.

"Get them!" yelled the commander of the fire ants.

"The loveliest of all. Are they?" said another little Fire Ant.

"Charge!" said the commander, "Stop them from getting on the boat!"

Now, Noah did not know what the ants were doing to God's precious unicorns. All he saw was the two unicorns running and playing in the rain. Oh, dear reader, that is not the case. Noah didn't know that the fire ants were jealous of the unicorn's beauty and had a plan to keep them off the arc. Noah didn't know that they were being bitten and stung. He thought they were playing but no. Noah just hoped the unicorns would make it onto the ship.

"Close the doors!" Noah bellowed through the valley.

Water rushed the sides of the arc as the doors were secured for the time. The fire ants cheered as they watched the doors close. The unicorns cried up to the heavens for help but no help came. Water covered the earth and took their pain away.

The fire ants are the reason why there are no unicorns today. The unicorns were not romping and playing. They were being attacked for being loved by the most high. The jealousy of the ants overtook them.

"There are green alligators, and long neck geese. some humpy back camels and some chimpanzees. some cats, and rats and elephants but sure as your born, there will not be any unicorns."

Yes, today we still have fire ants. Those little buggers gathered together on a tree limb and floated until they hit land. Because of that day, when they hurt the most precious unicorn, the creator placed them in the driest, hottest lands he could find for them to live. The fire ants will never be happy because the creator is not happy that they caused the demise of the unicorn.
