I had another dream about my grandmother recently. She has been heavy on my mind heavily as of late and the fact it’s the holiday season doesn’t make matters any easier. I guess she figured that her grandbaby needed some comfort and resassurance about how things are going.

And you know something? She’s right!

It’s been well over a year since she passed but I still can’t help but to think about her and all the good times we had together especially during this time period.

Warm thoughts race through my mind when I think about all the fun times we had from Halloween to Turkey Day to Christmas and all the way into the New Year so when she appeared in my dreams a few weeks ago, I was more then elated.

Basically, the dream starts off with my brother informing me that there’s an issue with the car. I can’t recall what it was exactly but anything regarding the vehicle gets my immediate attention.

All of a sudden, my grandmother appears out of nowhere. She must’ve wanted to go to church because that’s exactly where we ended up at next.

I escorted her into the building and went back to the car. That’s her thing not mine. However, I was dressed rather nicely for the occasion though.

When service was over, I waited for her to come out the building so I could walk her back to where the car was parked. When she came out, she asked me,

“Do you mind if I drive us home?” I told her, “I don’t mind at all and that I will just hop in the backseat and enjoy the ride.”

As we were standing outside chit-chatting away, I heard someone call out my name. I didn’t turn around because I didn’t feel like being bothered.

Now I know how celebrities feel when they head out for a night on the town and are constantly being hounded by the paparazzi. I felt like a celebrity who was trying play things lowkey until I got spotted by a pesky fan who’s on my back seeking an autograph or a selfie.

My grandmother and I hurried across the street towards the parking area. I got into the backseat and layed down in it so that the rather, obnoxious person wouldn’t be available to recognize me.

We scurried off down the roads and everything was well until we heard a ding coming from the dashboard. It’s never a good thing anytime you hear that check engine light ringtone. I rose up and saw that the oil engine sign was flashing.

Next thing that popped into my mind was whether we could make it back home or should we pull over and have it towed to the nearest mechanic shop.

I thought to myself that we only had about 9 miles left so I decided to lets try and see if we could make it. I really wish you all could’ve seen my grandmother.

The way she was dodging and swerving through incoming traffic was like seeing Mario Andretti or Dale Earnhardt Sr. (RIP) on the raceway in their respective primes.

She had us both feeling like we were filming another sequel to the Fast and the Furious. I felt just like Vin Diesel minus the 20 million a picture he gets paid.

Then I woke up right afterwards before the conclusion to that epic dream sequence could commence. I still wonder whether we were able to make it back home or not.

P.S. There’s nothing wrong with the automobile. That thing purrs like champ ever since I put that new coil pack on.
