The year 2008 was a whirlwind of events, from the snow and ice disaster, the Tibet incident, the Olympic torch relay on Mount Everest, the Wenchuan earthquake and Zhai Zhigang's spacewalk. Pile big event report front, have Zhang Quanling. From the top of Mount Qomolangma to the scene of an earthquake, she will be there in the first place to record and convey what is happening in China.

Can you guess what his fence is made of

After graduating from the Department of German Language and Literature of Peking University, Quan Ling joined the International Department of CCTV and served as the host of "China Report", "Oriental Time and Space", "News Conference Room" and other columns. Now he is the reporter and host of the News Special section of the News Center.

From the studio to live broadcast, Quan Ling without makeup, excited to experience the fresh sense of frontier.

On March 27, 2002, ZHANG QUANLING WENT INTO THE WAR-TORN Afghanistan, BECOMING THE FIRST Chinese FEMALE HOST TO GO INTO DANGER. For the first few days, Mr. Quan and his cameraman lived in the relative safety of the Afghan capital, Kabul, covering the arrival of aid and were not allowed to leave.

When he heard about the earthquake in northern Afghanistan, Zhang and the cameraman looked at each other and said, "Go!"

Heading north, the group came to an area 70 kilometers from Kabul. This used to be one of the best vineyards in Asia. During the fighting, the manor house had been levelled, making it impossible for the guerrillas to attack.

In the middle of the desolation, Quan Ling saw people rebuilding their homes. The small, warm home, surrounded by a shining fence, was made of large cannonball shells, which stood out in the setting sun and made one's eyes sour.

Returning from the northern mountains, Quan Ling passed an open-air school built by UNICEF. For more than 20 years, local children have been unable to receive a complete education because of the war. At that time, the teacher was teaching 26 English letters. Twenty children were sitting on the floor, and at the end of them, with their backs up, were three grown men with stubbly beards, studying "abc".

"The previous interview only changed my knowledge and experience, but that one affected my outlook on life. It turns out that there are people in the world who are rebuilding their homes with shells left over from the war, and there are people who regard learning the simplest letters as the greatest happiness -- how tough humanity is, how precious peace is..."

Shortly after returning from Afghanistan, Quan applied to join CCTV's "Trip to Lop Nur" to follow adventurer Li Yong, who was trekking across Lop Nur.

At first the leader refused. Quan Ling pleaded again and again: "Maybe five years later I will not be so young, I will withdraw... I'm a journalist, and experience is my greatest asset."

The leader was moved. As the only woman, Quan Ling travels with her colleagues to the mysterious heart of the desert.

The first purple sand pot

"My most abnormal state of mind was 28 years old, in the column at that time to achieve the commanding heights, can not find room for advancement, both arrogant and competitive, do not think it will hurt others. When I stepped out of the studio and into the society, there were always some people and things that touched the softest part of my heart."

Such as the pigeon's purple clay pot.

That day, Quan Ling received a call from a friend, who said: "There is a child in Yixing who likes you very much. He is paraplegic and lives in bed. Can you give him a call?" The child was Pigeon,19 years old, and had been in bed for 10 years. On that day, Quan knew that there were one million people in China living in this way.

The two have stayed in touch ever since. He would send her text messages from time to time: "Sister Quanling, I am in Nanjing for rehabilitation..." "Sister Quan Ling, I can move myself from the bed to the wheelchair..." "Elder sister, I began to learn to do the purple clay pot......"

The pigeon made the first pot, express to Quan Ling. He was 23 years old that year. Quan Ling carefully put the teapot on his desk, until he sent a second pot, not willing to use it to make tea.

Quan Ling always remembers the pigeon's laughter on the phone, clear and light, as if it had never suffered any suffering.

The first purple sand pot has been placed on the desk so far. The similar warmth and touching will be cherished in my heart and shared with friends and relatives. In the spotlight on the long march of news, she sees this shallow happiness, as life's biggest prize.
