Nigerian singer Ayra Starr is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars out of Africa right now. With "Rush" still making waves across the wave, "Bloody Samaritan" getting new life with a Kelly Rowland remix, and now her latest single "Sability" bursting through the airwaves, Ayra Starr is not slowing down and is continously dropping back to back bangers.

Recently the singer went to Kenya to do a show and in promotion of the show, she sat down to do some interviews in Kenya where she was finally asked about those "Sability" lyrics and the song. Since "Sability" came out, people have been feeling the song but also well aware that the lyrics of the song almost sound like they make no sense, or are just so unserious. Of course upon further inspection, you see that Ayra is actually making sense but the song sounding quite funny, and unserious, yes, it was very deliberate by Ayra Starr. Here is what Ayra Starr had to say about "Rush" and "Sability".

Ayra Starr during interview

Speaking about "Rush" crossing 100 million views on Youtube and the continued success of the song, Ayra Starr said:

AYRA STARR: "Rush" is literally still blowing up. I don't really know how to feel, I'm just still in shock. It just hit 102 million on Youtube and it's just like 102 million people have viewed this video? That is A LOT of people! So I'm amazed, and I'm grateful to God. I'm grateful to people who support me. When we made "Rush", to be honest, I wasn't too sure. I was like hmm, it's okay, it's not bad. But Don Jazzy was like this is the song, trust me, just let's release the song! I was like "are you sure? Let me record more, let me do more". And he was like "no no no no, this is the song".

Speaking about "Sability" and the unseriousness of the song, Ayra Starr said:

AYRA STARR: "Sability" was one of my funniest studio sessions ever. It was too funny. After every line we wrote, I would literally be on the ground laughing. Cuz it was just funny. I was like "Shinji gagawa", heyyy! [laughs] So it was just too funny. It was literally the funniest studio session. It was the most unserious studio session. I was just happy to like do something new. I wanted to do something new. I remember last year, I was saying I want to make music I grew up listening to. Music they played at birthday parties and it was just like you know all those big African music like every country can listen to, even French people, that is what I wanted to do. And I ended up doing that with "Sability".
