Heat-Wave Summer in Malta I blame DLT, if you didn’t feel the temperature rise, you missed out.
Now I’m sure those of you that saw the tweets with pictures and videos have your opinions already, but this is for the readers that don’t have a clue what I’m talking about and still want to be clued up.
Even if you’re just curious about DLT or genuinely fun things to get up to in Malta then I suggest you keep reading & share !
DLT is a music festival that features various types of music from Afrobeat artists like Wizkid, Amapiano & even UK grime, and other musicians like WSTRN and REMA as well as daytime brunch events.
The highlight of the time spent at Malta focused more on the Island itself and the wide variety of things to do while there, so you can breathe a sigh of relief if music festivals just aren't your thing. (Although be prepared I heard rumours of a DLT pt.2 in 2023)
DAY 1
Take a wild guess what went down on the 1st & 2nd nights I’ll even give you a minute…clubbing.
We had to hit the “strip” a popular street filled with bars, clubs and lounges.
Top recommendations for night out are, Havana or Footloose for the clubs as they are free and very busy on weekdays can’t say the same for weekends unfortunately although they are still very busy, definitely hit up the Peppermint Park the best bar for cheap cocktails .
DAY 2
way more laidback and relaxed than the 1st night day 2 was a very relaxing.
A 4 1/2 hour boat trip to the Blue Lagoon & Comino with the tranquil views and lazy breeze.
This was one of the ICONIC parts of the whole experience as there we slides we could you use and platforms to jump off into the open water.
On the way back on the boat the coast as well as the sunset completely transformed the appearance of city. The dim street lights alongside the warm breeze kept the night young.
DAY 3
Let me just inform you water will be a recurring theme because we had to keep the ball rolling next day we got hydrated.
Splash Fun Water Park, was the agenda for day 3 not to mention the anticipation & excitement as it was the first official day of DLT festival with performances by Manlikenaija, Sef Kombo, Spinall & Kaytranada.
DAYS 4 & 6
You’re probably wondering what happened to chronological order and where’s day 5, slow down hold on a second.
Let me explain so days 4 & 6 were very similar as there were festival events on both nights and the music was breath-taking.
The most memorable performance in my opinion had to be The Composers, a phenomenal band and trust me when I say if it isn’t live in front of your face, you do not want it.
The only criticism I’d have for the DLT crew in regards to the show is the timings of artists as parts of sets were late rushed or cut short .
Moments I decided to capture.
DAY 5
The adventuring in Malta resumed with a day trip to another nearby Island Gozo, with a ferry which had its own set of mini quests for us uncover.
The first thing was food then we needed our drivers licences, because you can’t Quad Bike without them just a heads up.
Riding around in Gozo was simply unforgettable with the bending roads that might as well have been alleys.
Now I was shocked when travelling around Gozo because I did not expect to see some of the scenes or sites , from cliffs to the coast even the architecture was astonishing.
Would it the day really be complete with out some water after Riding around we wanted to cool off a little so we did, thanks to a little UFO Rafting.
P.S.A never again will I be putting my life in the hands of a rope and inflatable I was focused on making it back to the AirBnB alive that afternoon.
Day 5 was ended with a Poolside Party hosted by DLT.
Being the foodie that I am I had to save the best till last.
Hopefully you’ve left with some ideas on where to visit.
