An Exerpt from Chapter Chapter 7: Strange Bodies

“MMMMMMMMMWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO”

“Huh?” “MMMMMMMMMWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO”

“Huh,” Serbinand repeated, staring at the animal standing in front of him. He couldn’t believe its behaviour! It was chewing incessantly without any regard for manners whatsoever! Spittle flying all over the place and munching noises bellowing from almost every orifice.

“Ehh, hello,” Serbinand tried, but did not even get the slightest response.

“MMMWWWWOOOO,” he uttered instead, not knowing its meaning.

To this, the cow stopped chewing and stared straight at him as if to say, Hey What’s going on man! That’s my language you’re speaking. Aside from that, there was no other reaction.

Serbinand decided to continue with that approach. He got down to the ground, went on all fours, dug his head into the grass, and began to chew. Not bad, he thought. “Pretty good, actually,” he shouted out loud.

MMMMMMMMWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOO!”, he uttered again, this time with both force and glee. And to think I have been walking on this great food since I got here. What a planet!”

The cow was really not quite sure what was going on, but as long this creature did not interfere with its job of eating, everything would be alright. That’s because a cow’s career objectives were very simple: Eat all the grass. That was it. Very simple. This particular cow had it figured out years ago, as a calf. Once I’m finished with this spot, I’ll move onto that one. And then after that, I’ll move over there. There had never been an issue. Until now. There was a human standing directly on the next edible spot, a slight imperfection with the plan. Well, of course this was a bit troubling. What to do? Only one solution came to mind. Kick the intruder.

That's what the cow intended to do, and decided to carry out this mission as smoothly as she ate grass. She really was a very independent cow. Actually left the farm before her parents gave the okay, because she was set on accomplishing her grass-eating goals. And nothing was going to come between that. So, she let out a little bellow of a “mwwwwoooo” and deftly booted Serbinand in the chest, sending him flying until he landed meters away.

Authors, well… my Comments:

So what is this scene all about? Why did I choose it? Well at first it was the preview to the book on Audible. So I guess that is pretty good start lol 😂 The audio version of this is really quite funny! So somne of the characters in the book The Ridiculous Adventures of Serbinand changed places… what? What does mean? Well, Serbinand, a fun going space adventurer somehow got switched with Jime, an teenager on Earth. Now why, how and when did this transfer bodies is a whole other story, and for now, let’s just go with it.

Serbinand, now in Jime’s body, is venturing around with his friend Orville the musical 🎶 operatic budgie, and stumbled upon this field. Well, even stumble isn’t the right word. Jime was done with his ordinary life and was seeking an adventure away from his parents, home and all he knew. While on this journey is when everything went a bit “bonkers” and he was swept away to another world.

Serbinand, on the other hand, was also hoping to get away from his best friend Godfried who had been anoying him for way to long. That too is another story 😉. Suffice it to say, he was thrilled to be in a new body, somewhere else, and far away from his normal daily routine, of really, not that much.

After “landing” on Earth, in Jime’s body, he spent some time getting used to the functions and after changing his clothes (yup, some functions can be messy) he continued on his journey, and that is where we meet him in this scene.

To me this part of the book is fun, and is taken even further through the audio version where voice actor and narrator Alan Irving up-levels it 🤪 Adding some sound effects, visual and the fun voices really spices things up and gives the reader, well, the listener, well, the viewer (if they are watching the little animate clip) the ability to have more fun with it!

So far only 2 scenes have been animated - the opening “preview” of the book and this one. The goal is to keep adding some of these scenes and turning this comedy book also into an animate series!
