The Price Just Dropped on the Late Hulk Hogan’s Clearwater Beach Mansion

This YouTube video from a few months ago mentioned an 11 million dollar asking price for the late Hulk Hogan’s 5400 square foot waterfront mansion. Yet, I found a Zillow listing that shows what looks to be the same exact house asking a cool nine million.

Yes, the two story Mediterranean style abode is impressive. With Gulf views from almost every room and teak flooring throughout, in my opinion, it still needs work.

The kitchen could use new flooring and new cabinets. I would also update the master bath, maybe even gut it. I may be wrong, but it doesn’t appear that the house has been renovated since it was built in 2009.

If it were me, I would consider this 3500 square foot home a short distance away on the intracoastal waterway. It was built in 2003, so slightly older, and smaller, but the house has been completely remodeled from top to bottom. As they say in real estate school, all you need is your toothbrush!

It is a block away from the beach, rather than directly on the sand. But, if you are a celebrity, you won’t have beach-goers gawking at your house while they are collecting sea shells. Instead, you can sit on your giant patio and watch boats go by on the intracoastal.

Still, if you are a big Hulk Hogan fan and simply must live in the home that he once lived in, the 9 million dollar price tag doesn’t seem too bad. After perusing all they listings on Clearwater Beach, I found very few single family homes and a lot of condos.

So, if you value your privacy and insist on living beach side, the late Hulk Hogan mansion may be for you.

I wondered why Hogan chose to live in Clearwater Beach. Turns out the star wrestler was born in Georgia but grew up in the Tampa Bay Area.

Even with the two million dollar price drop, Hogan’s heirs will come away with a tidy profit. According to this article in the Robb Report, the Hulk and his second wife Jennifer bought the property for 1.3 million in 2012, and apparently fell in love with the mansion’s unique amenities:

“Completed in 2009 and set on one of two palm-laced parcels that span around a third of an acre combined, the stucco and flat terracotta-roof structure offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a powder room in roughly 5,400 square feet across three levels. Refined interiors boast a mix of teak, marble, and natural stone floors, while amenities include an elevator, an office, and a wine cellar, plus 1,500 square feet of covered outdoor space and a heated pool and spa.”

OK, if the kitchen floors are natural stone and not plain old ceramic tile, maybe I would polish them and regrout instead of completely replacing the flooring. It’s hard to decipher materials from pictures and video. You need to actually tour the home and touch the floors.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think the listing agent is going to let me in. After all, don’t you have to qualify to tour a property of this magnitude?

I only live about three hours from Clearwater Beach. So, maybe if there is an open house, I will wrangle my husband into taking a drive up there with all the other tire kickers.

He would likely say no, because you know, the price tag is a little high, and oh, I forgot, the property tax and flood insurance on that place may make it a little out of our range. But a girl can dream, can’t she?
