The Normalization of Racism and the Mockery of Marginalized Communities in Social Media
The Normalization of Racism and the Mockery of Marginalized Communities in Social Media. Racism has long been one of humanity’s most persistent and deep-rooted injustices. For centuries, marginalized communities, particularly Black people, have suffered from discrimination in every aspect of life, from legal systems to social interactions. While overt racism has been widely condemned in many societies, a subtler and perhaps even more dangerous form has emerged in modern times—one that disguises itself as humor.

Where Have Those Days of Friendship Gone?
Where Have Those Days of Friendship Gone? Where have those days gone when friendship was not just a relationship but the very essence of life? Those days when sitting on the school steps, chatting endlessly, getting drenched in the rain, playfully splashing water at each other, and later hiding those wet clothes from our mothers out of fear but laughing uncontrollably – all of it feels so vividly etched in memory even today. Those were days of innocent friendship... a bond without selfishness, without expectations. Sharing lunch during recess, tasting each other’s favourite dishes, and finding immense joy in such simple acts – there was magic hidden in those little moments. If someone got a new pen, it was mandatory for everyone to use it before the school day ended. There was no room for jealousy or competition, only pure happiness in each other’s joys. Fights did happen, misunderstandings arose, but they never lasted long. A quarrel in the morning would turn into laughter by afternoon. The concept of 'not talking' would last for just a few hours because ego had no place in that friendship. We played pranks, teased each other, but even in those mischievous acts, there was affection. In those playful smiles and innocent tears, there was a bond of togetherness that words could never define. But today, everything has changed. Friends are still there, but the essence of friendship is lost. People are around, yet hearts have drifted apart. There are thousands of ‘friends’ on social media, but not a single true friend by the side. We have emojis to express laughter, but the genuine warmth behind those smiles is missing. Where did that friendship go, the one where there was always time for each other? Today, even with plenty of time, meetings are limited to online platforms. Feelings are confined to text messages, and instead of opening up to each other, people find solace in updating their ‘status.’ The digital age has certainly brought people closer virtually but has widened the emotional gap between them. Do you remember those moments when after a fight, we would walk away, turning our backs on each other, but before reaching the end of the street, we’d glance back... and the moment our eyes met, we would run back and hug each other tightly? Today, arguments still happen, but they are followed by prolonged silences, sometimes even permanent ones. Where have those days gone when there was no ‘I’ in relationships, only ‘we’? Where is that emotion which kept humanity alive? Even after achieving success and reaching the pinnacle of life, the void left by the absence of genuine friendship lingers painfully in the heart. Truly... where have those days of friendship gone? Perhaps, we are the ones who left them behind as we moved forward. It’s time to turn back and look for those lost days. It’s time to revisit those memories when a fight would start over a piece of chocolate, but the same chocolate, when shared, would make the friendship sweeter again. Let’s take a moment to call our old friends, go beyond the confines of social media and meet face-to-face, look into each other’s eyes, and have heart-to-heart conversations. Because friendship never grows old, it just waits silently in the corners of our hearts. Where have those days of friendship gone? They are still within us... waiting to be revived once more.

The Delivery of Goods on a Rainy Day
I am a Salvadoran living in Chile, a micro-entrepreneur, and one of my company's sectors is merchandise transportation, among others. Although we are in February and it is summer here in Chile, I thought about writing this during winter, on a cold and rainy day when I accompanied a work team on their deliveries. While observing delivery workers at nearby establishments, those working through mobile applications—similar to what we do when transporting goods by road—I realized that the job of a delivery person comes with various challenges, even on the sunniest and most peaceful days. However, when the rain starts to fall, the entire scenario changes. Adverse weather conditions not only affect logistics but also test the resilience and adaptability of delivery workers who face these circumstances daily.
