Chapter 1 The Start

Herbert Jenkins he was born November the 25th 1952 he was the firstborn son of Glenn and Mary Jenkins and at that time Glenn was nearly 50 years old. He had absolutely no time for Herbert when he was a small boy. His schedule kept him entirely too busy to allow for much of that. Herbert was not a spoiled child. Glenn would never allow that; it would draw too much attention to the family.

Then on January the 2nd 1954 Dwight Jenkins was born. Now there were two boys that Glenn still did not have any time for. They got everything they needed as children except for their father's attention. Herbert always had to do better than his brother. Just enough to one up him as he would say. He believed that everything he did was correct.

He could do no wrong. Even if it were incorrect it was because it needed to be adjusted. He knew all the answers and he did not need any help. He had the whole world figured out. I know we have all been at that age where we thought we knew everything there was to know. Mary did the best she could with Herbert considering that family tree.

In Herbert’s world he was the center of attention and the focus was always on him. Glenn said he would make time for the boys when they were older. When they can understand this family business and appreciate it. Mary tried to do all she could to keep the peace in the home, but Herbert and Dwight would fight when they were together.

They would be arguing all the time. When they were not arguing they simply were not speaking to one another. That was the family dynamic when they were together at home or on the road. But Dwight followed Herbert around like he was his shadow. Herbert would interfere and try to interrupt if Dwight was talking or trying to do anything, no matter what it was.

Herbert could suck the oxygen right out of the room, but Dwight was just happy to be there in the room with him. They both did well in school and in sports. However, their father never attended a single school event. He did not attend because he did not want to create any awkward moments where he might run into someone that he had worked with or had worked against in a public setting.

Glenn had been involved in so many things. **** marches, **** riots, civil unrest from elections and labor strikes around the nation. These activities played out on TV every night. It was clear what he was fearing, and why he wanted to keep his distance in public. It was to protect his family. But at the same time, he strongly believed what he was doing was right for his country and his family.

He simply believed that the ***** people of America who did not standup and fight for ***** America would be looked down upon someday in the history books. That history in the long run would fall on his side, the side of *****. *********. He believed it in his heart that he was making America a better place and his family would be honored for him doing his part. He believed at some point this nation would thank him and his family for all their work.

He named his sons Herbert and Dwight for two reasons. The first reason is obvious Herbert Hoover and Dwight Eisenhower were his favorite presidents. In his eyes the grand old party could not do enough to honor those two men.

In Glenn’s mind those two men had earned the respect of the entire country as heroes. If politics is part of the family business that is exactly what you do. The second reason will tell you everything about him that you need to know. If anyone would ask him why he named his sons Herbert and Dwight he could laugh, and say with a smile, who was I going to name the boys after a damn Democrat.

Now he was not just a member of the grand old party or the ****; no, it was way more than that. In the Jenkins family's mind, there was no greater honor than serving those two parties. They believed they were the Patriots. They believed their sacrifices were needed for this nation.

In Glen’s mind and in the mind of his father, they could not understand why everybody was not part of the grand old party if they were ***** When it came to West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio everybody with money and power knew the Jenkins family. They were doing work for the greatest country and for a ***** America, just like his father had taught him.

The Jenkins family preached for the **** to many people convincing them through lies and hatred that the ***** was a great organization. How many members of that organization had they convinced to join the grand old party? They brought those two organizations together and, in their minds, they were now one. Do not get me wrong they did not do it for free. In some cases, they were paid quite well.

They considered themselves heroes. They were the behind the scenes heroes that keep America great. No one would even know them, and they were fine with that. Now when it came to politics, Glenn had his hand in everything from the selection of a city council member, governors and if needed president of the United States.

He tried to make sure his boys understood why the grand old party and white America always came first. Glenn was a grand old party consult-ant. He was who they would call when there was some trouble on the campaign or, they just needed something fixed, but not in a public way. If they needed an idea for the campaign he could think outside of the box.

He was the guy they would call when they needed something done discreetly. Glenn had been doing it for years. They had done that exact same thing with his father. What was also important was making sure ***** America stayed in power. If that meant voter suppression or intimidation to keep them away from the poll’s that is what they would do. They knew Glenn would have a solution or an answer. If the grand old party had a candidate that they wanted to be guided all the way through to victory they knew Glenn was their man. He had worked on many of their campaigns over the years.
