Using Pheromones to Your Advantage

Have you ever met a member of the opposite sex who smelled incredible, but you just couldn’t put your finger on why?

It wasn’t their perfume/cologne, or shampoo; there was just something about them.

It was as if their very skin smelled enticing.

You couldn’t get close enough, cuddling and snuggling against them, even breathing in the scent of their pillow or clothing when they were away.

Maybe you even mentioned his/her incredible scent to your friends and they looked at you like you were crazy. Or just love-struck.

“Yeah, whatever. You’re whipped.”

Why didn’t they have the same reaction to that person’s amazing scent?

Biochemistry holds the answer.

Pheromones

Pheromones are produced the same way hormones are — a basic function caused by a chemical signal in the body. They are released automatically and unconsciously for the purpose of attracting a member of the opposite sex.

In some instances of animal behavior, pheromones are released to show dominance to members of the same sex.

“Get your hands off of my mate!”

Most of the time, however, it’s your body’s secret weapon; a subtle way of signaling potential mates and drawing them to you.

Hormones or Pheromones?

The main difference between hormones and pheromones is that hormones change the behavior of your own body, while pheromones affect the behavior of others picking up your signals.

Example: Your body decides it’s time to mate, so your hormones will put you in the mood, while your pheromones are released to spark the interest of potential lovers.

Pheromones are very individualistic in nature. What’s attractive to you may be different than what’s attractive to another person. Nature wants to cover all its bases, and no one gets left out.

Our specific pheromones are always attractive to some faction of the opposite sex, and sometimes it’s exactly the right match.

You just have to stumble on that individual who finds your pheromones irresistible, and whose scent is overwhelmingly attractive to you, as well.

The best bet? Beef up your pheromones

The more pheromones you give off, the greater your chances are of your perfect match picking you out of the crowd.

How to Increase Your Pheromones

You can cheat the system a little.

You can increase your pheromones so they’re more noticeable than your competition’s, making you stand out among the dozens of other men/women in that gym/bar/subway.

Pheromones are produced in different quantities depending upon several variables. With females, pheromone production follows the menstrual cycle. When a woman is less fertile, her pheromones will naturally ebb.

Aging is associated with a diminished production of sex hormones (androgen and estrogen), which, in turn, will slow the production of pheromones in both men and women.

Unless you take measures to increase them.

Below are some foods and general practices that should ramp up your pheromone production, making you irresistible to your perfect match!

Pheromone Enhancing Foods for Women

  • celery (androstenal)
  • avocados (boron)
  • dried apricots, raisins, and prunes (boron)
  • Brazil nuts (boron)
  • oysters (N-methyl-D-aspartate)

Androstenal is a naturally occurring steroidal pheromone.

Boron is a mineral that helps stimulate the production of estrogen, sending a signal to your body to produce more pheromones.

N-methyl-D-aspartate are amino acids that have been found to increase pheromone production in women.

Pheromone Enhancing Foods for Men

  • oysters (D-aspartic acid)
  • kidney beans, chickpeas (zinc)
  • sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds (vitamin E)
  • kiwis, blackberries (vitamin E)
  • spinach, turnip greens (vitamin E)

D-aspartic acid is an amino acid found to increase pheromone production in men

Zinc and vitamin E increase testosterone production, which, in turn, sparks pheromone production

Exercise

Ramping up your exercise routine will also increase your pheromone production. Your body secretes pheromones during perspiration, signaling your system to make more. Go, go go!

Sleep

Make sure you get plenty of zzzs. A lack of sleep causes a dip in pheromone levels, as hormones become imbalanced. If you find yourself running a little short on the recommended eight hours, try taking brief naps when you can.

Abstain from Sex/masturbation

Groan. Really?? Yes!

Your estrogen/testosterone levels increase when you haven’t had an orgasm in a while, and that will cause your pheromone levels to rise. A little self-control now could pay off big later. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Hygiene

Be gentle to your skin… but not too gentle.

Avoid using harsh soaps, and try to use a mild body wash that won’t strip away all of your natural oils. It’s not good for your skin, and it’s not good for your pheromones!

Exfoliation is helpful. Let those pores breathe, and your skin will emit more pheromones when you sweat.

Go easy with the loofah on those tender areas, though! A washcloth will work just as well. Healthy skin makes for a happy body.
