Please understand, by no means do I assume progression has not been made. Try if you can to see it from my perspective. If any way conceivable. 1968 was said to be the beginning of a dream and for most the conclusion of political enslavement. Thanks to the media at the time, presumably mostly white-controlled, nationwide attention was given. M.L.K. Jr.'s well-known activism made him from my point of view, a celebrity figure. As destiny would see fit, the son of a pastor was to become the definition of non-violence, orchestrator of peace, and a vision of Afro-American dignity at its most high. His testimony of reaching the mountain top not only was inspiring but historical. So many men of ethnicity are worthy to be honored. Not only is Black History but History altogether. A man of considerable faith and courage is my definite aspiration. This is spoken of a man I can only dream to emulate. The legacy and remembrance of such a man are stamped. Nothing can remove this man's mountain of symbolism.

If I had a dream today it would be for sure to model after, Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. His non-violent approach speaks only for an appreciation of life, and love for your fellow man. White or Black, woman or man, discrimination of any intent was in violation of TRUTH. It had to be honorable to just stand in his presence. A question I have for those who marched and protested with M.L.K. Jr. is, was his presence the likes of a lion? Did his voice carry in wind like the eagles' soar? No matter how the conversation may go, Martin left a major impression on the following generation. This is what leads to the next topic of the discussion. My honest opinions speak of my truth as seen. I was born 7 years after his assassination. May he rest in heavenly peace. By the time I took place on earth, many economic and racial injustices were slightly reformed. So much to just thirty-five years later, we'd have seen a black President. It sounds just as long as it was, wow! All I know is much respect is due to such a man.

M.L.K. Jr. is Hero to me and many others. Blacks, as well as whites, can see the leadership qualities of such a man, and model every aspect of their lives after. If half the country was of this man's character, America would have a very different distinction. Martin was steadfast in his belief, and fear was of no relation. The courage he displayed to demonstrate his opinions, is another quality I yearn to have. Alas, what happened to the dream? what happened to the dreamers? The '80s and '90s seem to have brought in and advanced more disrespectfully and scientifically than humanely and empathically. The problem is so many don't dream anymore. I think we've been distracted as a culture to accept negativity and untruths. Our dream machine has been disconnected. The only hope in the stride of the latest millennium is the future consumers of today's injustices. Our children are in possession of the keys to unlock forgotten dreams.

Help me Imagine tomorrow's heroes. These are the ones we need to praise as well. Bless the child in his desire to dream BIG. New moments in time require new leaders to lead. The child is a hero indeed. His innocence must be protected and carefully guided.

Incontinently, I participate in living the DREAM. The unsatisfying reality of the greatest movement for injustice is the loss of brotherly love. Compassion for the fellow man has lessened, And the meaning of freedom has become nothing but an escape from the justice system. What could Dr. King have meant when he spoke of being Free At Last? My conclusion is top of the list why M.L.K. Jr. is my Hero. Mr. King was very enlightened by his faith. I believe his vision was the dream. A dream to someday come to life. The sincere gratitude showed in his speech, for me left a confirmation that eventually dreams come true. His philosophy on confrontation and his spiritual enlightenment are core to the reason why he is the ultimate hero. Fearless and feared, his Dream continues...
