Nigerians were thrown into mourning last month when news broke about the death of rapper Mohbad. As time went on and more revelations came out about the things surrounding the nature of his death, the public sympathy and outcry became more and people all over the country and all over the world were calling for Justice for Mohbad. Today, the initial rage and discourse around the rapper's death has mellowed down dramatically, but one person who is still talking about the singer's death is ace musician, Patoranking.

During a new interview with Afrobeats Podcast, Patoranking opened up about the last message he sent Mohbad, and also gave his thoughts about the rapper's untimely death. Here's what Patoranking had to say.

Speaking about the death of Mohbad, the last message he sent the rapper, and more, Patoranking said:

PATORANKING: It's sad when you open your phone and see his picture and you come to the realization that he's not coming back, that's the part that gets me. Like you still have to believe that he is gone. I remember I sent him a message some time in April - he didn't send me any message, I just sent him - I went to his DM, and I said "Yo! Good work. Young king. Keep doing what you're doing. Keep up the good work" and he replied "Thanks man, thanks boss!" For me, I saw what he was doing and there are many angles that I can look into it and it's just going to get me down. Do you want to come to it as a father? You're a father, a young father - what happens to the boy? What happens to the kid? You want to come from the fact that he's coming from the ghetto, now someone is gone, a lot of people depending on him. So there's many ways to look at it and it's just sad. We should not be losing people. He doesn't deserve it, and it's a very sad one. But I'm happy everybody is speaking about it and coming together as a voice and saying Justice for Mohbad. It's very important and it's something I stand by. It's sick!

We still remember Mohbad and hold him dearly in our hearts. What do you think about what Patoranking said? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment either below or on my Jide Okonjo Facebook post.
