Katespiracies

Have we, as a society gone completely bonkers?

Kate Middleton... Princess Catherine, Princess Kate, HRH Princess of Wales, or whatever else you want to call her. Our recent pop cultural phenomenon -- and an unintended one, at that, seemingly.

Yes, by the time of this writing, I am aware of her diagnosis and public video -- but internet sleuths are already uploading "That video is a deep fake!" theories onto algorithms are I'm typing. And quite a few versions are doing their rounds, yet again.

I was previously sucked into the drama when it was more of a love triangle telenova with Prince William being an allegedly cheating husband at the center of the conspiracy scandal.

Since it has been quashed to the current mainstream extents, I have not further explored those possibilites in my public content -- Tik Tok random reactions and opinions, mainly.

... Now, I don't know what the "real agenda" here is by the Monarchy, and I myself have often criticised the Royal Family because I, as an Australian citizen, do have moments of resentment. Yes apparently about $2 AUD of our taxes go to them each year, still. (I don't have the source, random googling and vague memories is how I came to the conclusion of that number). And so, why not critique them? Why not scrutinize and debate and have them in our popular consciousness as we are PAYING for it, right?

Now, when it comes to matters of personal health, I don't want to sew any bad karma because I do also believe in that. So, I don't want to drag on with the conspiracies specifically, however I do find it curious that society as a whole had latched onto them so vehemently at this time.

Don't we have more important things to worry about? Perhaps, yes, but mentioning that these are taxpayer funded figures and lifestyles, also brings the money trail back to them. Right? Like, isn't there a somewhat shared economic responsibility by royalty towards the prosperity or lack thereof of the realms to which they represent and cater to?

It's not as if people just accept you has faces of charity, or neutral voices to some extent in politics.

What purpose does the Monarch actually play in modern society?

It's not like potholes in roads, okay, our tax dollars go towards fixing those. Where are the problems, and how are they contributing towards the resolve?

In this recent phase of royalty being diagnose with cancer, are they playing their role in public health? Are they being the examplars, or the PSA reminderers? Is that a publicly acceptable role for a Royal to play?

Yes, their positions in life and whatever details and breadcrumbs they give us of information sparks public discussion, and perhaps, even some public health consciousness -- but then what? How are we benefiting in any significant way?

When Kate says, "You are not alone" to other cancer patients or loved ones of -- okay, yes, that is a fact. But many people are alone in their financial abilities to cope with their intended treatments. Many people are alone in even delaying or procrastinating from seeing their Doctors or Specialists because they in fact feel very alone in their financial situation, and absolutely dread the subsequent costs that cancer care will come with.

It's not only about communication to family and loved ones about the illness itself, it is also about communicating an upcoming large chunk of finances to allot or perhaps even borrow with and from family and friends to cope. So in that, they are experiencing a vastly different "cancer journey" than Princess Kate.

I don't know if she will ever come out to discuss this, but I can't help that this is what is going through my mind as I'm typing this out and thinking about it. Just a more long winded version of my random thoughts.
