Is Hugh Jackman’s NYC Penthouse Worth 21 Million Dollars?

I could never see myself living in the concrete jungle known as New York City, until I saw Hugh Jackman’s Chelsea penthouse, soaring more than 50 stories above the city and furnished with the most exquisite contemporary furnishings I have ever seen.

Most of the time, I notice that celebrity homes are often overdone and cluttered looking…Not Jackman’s. Clean lines and modern designs adorn the place. I can see myself sipping sweet tea high above the Hudson River…If only.

But alas, I can not afford the 21 million dollar price tag. Should anyone pay that? I mean, granted the place is phenomenal, even by New York standards. But is it worth it?

According to this article, you might actually be snagging a good deal, because Jackman is taking a major hit on the property, given that the asking price in 2022 was 38 million.

Still, I’m not completely sold. You can buy a two bedroom/three bath unit on the eight floor for 3.2 million. Granted it doesn’t boast the same sweeping views and probably isn’t as beautifully renovated as Jackman’s penthouse. It only measures 1700 square feet, compared to the actor’s 4700 square foot abode.

But, if you want to rub shoulders with the rich and famous, and live in this fabulous Chelsea location, it might be worth it. After all, the 8th floor in this building isn’t too shabby. But looking st the inside, you might need to do a little work…Not much, but a little. And the amenities are nothing short of astounding:

OK, you had me at the “elegant Terrazzo floors.” And if I could get a glimpse of Hugh Jackman on my way to the fitness center or the indoor/outdoor pool, all the better. But I think he no longer lives there and has moved on. A girl can dream, can’t she?

Back to reality. Honestly, who can afford even the 3.2 million dollar price tag? Not to worry. There is a one bedroom 600 square foot unit on the third floor for 1.1 million. You won’t quite experience the same views, and street noise might be a slight problem, but hey, you are in New York City and who really sleeps there anyway?

Now All I need to do is convince my yard loving husband that we need to give up the grass for a balcony and fantastic food mere steps away. It might be a tough sell.
