This week, Kelly Ripa talked to her husband Mark Consuelos about her “biggest complaint” about him when they first started dating. In the March 22 premiere episode of Kelly Ripa’s new SiriusXM podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, the actress joined her husband Mark Consuelos as the couple opened up about their relationship.
Ripa talked around the jealousy Mark Consuelosonce felt at the starting of their relationship, as well as other ups and downs that the two of them had to bargain with but were able to overcome through communication.
Jealousy moments early in their relationship
Ripa told her husband, “You used to be extraordinarily desirous. This is my greatest grievance about you throughout our marriage — and this isn’t later, in light of the fact that it certainly different, and I couldn’t say whether I changed assuming you changed, or on the other hand in the event that it was a combination of the two.”
That was a difficult pill to swallow. Being married to someone who is envious is very difficult. It doesn’t look nice.”
Ripa then stated that Consuelos once had an unrealistic “perception of a scenario.” She went on to talk about an incident that occurred in 1996, just one week after they got married.Due to the fact that we didn’t go on our honeymoon until later, it was our first week of marriage. She stated, “I went to visit you in Boston while you were working.”
“Right when we went to an Italian café, the server taken after a remarkably beguiling old man, most likely in his 70s or 80s.
Ripa told, “I thought it was charming to such an extent that this little elderly person called me a princess, and I took a gander at him and I provided him my request in a very smiley way.” She proceeded to say, He then left, and you picked a horrendous battle.
Mark Consuelos figured out how to change
Mark Consuelos confirmed that he was enraged by the situation at the time, but he recalls it with humor.
“I recall that. Look, I was pretty crazy when I was 25 years old,” Consuelos remarked about his reaction at the time.
But that feeling of enviousness definitely followed me for some time. I’m no longer envious.
He went on to say, “It’s a flaw in character.” It looks bad. In addition, it evokes such an ugliness inside, regardless of how it appears to the person receiving it. If this serves as any consolation, you are aware that you are insane. The person who is jealous is aware that this is wrong and unattractive, but they can’t help it.
Consuelos claims that he changed his attitude toward jealousy by going through a process of self-improvement.
He stated, “I wanted to work on myself.” Because it was getting in the way, that was one of the most important things I needed to work on.
The couple talked about how communication helped them deal with a lot of the problems in their relationship throughout the episode. They even met with a counselor to openly talk about the habits and actions that hurt their relationship.
