Regardless if you're 21 or 32, most people have had some kind of checklist they created for the ideal partner that is believed to sweep them off their feet into the sunset.

Maybe you just got in a relationship and you think you found the "One". Or you've been in a relationship for a few months and aren't entirely sure or just curious to know if they are truly ready for a relationship.

When we fall in love with someone we tend to start seeing them through rose colored glasses. We ignore the red flags and paint this picture in our heads that everything is beyond perfect.

That being said we can see things for how we want to see it instead of how it really is. This doesn't really help when you want to figure out how someone feels deep down inside.

Sometimes life shocks us after heartache and pain and brings someone into our life that make us question their true intentions because they may seem too good to be true. But if we choose to go forward with them, dating can be a good thing.

When we meet an amazing person, we often enjoy spending days, weeks and months getting to know them on every level. Everything appears to be going extremely well but in the back of your mind you still wonder what they really feel about you when they're alone in the comfort of their own home. This is a normal thought to have and its also healthy. It shows that you genuinely care for the relationship and that you are concerned about where you stand.

With that being said, you’re ready for a relationship when you know what you’re willing to do to maintain one.

Here are some telltale signs that they are ready for a relationship...

1- After a date, they ask to see you again before it ends

2- They have a twinkle in their eyes when you see them and their pupils are dilated.

3- They smile often and are happy when they're around you. They may even tell you that you make them happy.

4- They ask you questions about yourself and genuinely want to get to know you better or an a deeper level.

5- They introduce you to the important people in their life which includes family and friends.

6- They often end up extra close to you whether it's hugging you or touching you on purpose.

7- They are comfortable with you every time you speak or when you're together. They open up to you about stuff they normally wouldn't share.

8- They don't mind holding hands or having PDA outside

9- They've accepted your children ad are eager to get to know them. This is a huge plus. (They should want to have a god relationship with them).

10- They tell you that they want a future with you. Believe them because no one says that if they're playing games.

11- They are consistent and willing to fully commit to you without the need to give you any lame excuses.

12- If they stopped with the comparison of the past then they could most likely be ready.

13- When they are confident saying they're ready for the next chapter together.

In conclusion, you know you’re ready for a relationship when you can take full responsibility for being single.

Not questioning a relationship is a great step in the right direction. This is a fantastic state of mind to be in when you want to know if you've moved on from any past hurt or trauma ( assuming that you've done the work and worked on YOU) !

Keep in mind that no one is responsible for making you happy. You are responsible for being happy and feeling whole before you get into a relationship.

The moment you realize that any checklist you came up with in the past no longer matters in present day, you have reached a different type of growth.

You finally are in acceptance that no matter what you want to have in a partner there's no list that could ever bring you the perfect person and you're perfectly okay with this reality.
