The largest city in the UAE, Dubai, never sleeps. This is a city of spectacular contrasts. On one hand, it’s a city of culture, heritage, and history, and on the other, it’s a city of impressive futuristic developments. Dubai is a global business hub that offers luxury and comfort, but it’s also home to a number of souks and shopping centres. This duality of character brings you an unforgettable experience.

The Dubai Mall

In a city that speaks of luxury and opulence, the Dubai Mall stands out as a symbol of modernity and ambition. The mall, with its array of retail and entertainment experiences, is not just a shopping centre but a full-fledged entertainment and lifestyle hub.

Background

The Dubai Mall forms part of the Downtown Dubai complex, an ambitious real estate development project. The mall was opened in 2008, and it was designed by DP Architects of Singapore.

The mall is a testament to Dubai’s vision to become a global destination for shopping, entertainment and luxury living.

History

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, is located right next to the Dubai Mall. When the mall was opened, it was considered the largest of its kind in the world in terms of floor space. Shopping wasn’t the only intended purpose for the mall; the idea was to build a hub where people can work, live, play, and enjoy life.

Location

The Dubai Mall is located just 29 minutes from the Avani Ibn Battuta Hotel. In the vicinity of the mall are two other popular attractions: the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain. The central location of the mall makes it accessible from any part of the city, and it also makes shopping at the Dubai Mall one of the most popular things to do in Ibn Battuta.

Address: Downtown Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Getting to the Mall

Getting to the Dubai Mall is a breeze. If you are taking the metro, the nearest station is the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station. From there, you can take a feeder bus or walk via the air-conditioned Metro Link Bridge. If you’d rather drive, there are ample parking spaces available, with valet parking and car wash services on offer.

Opening Hours

From Sunday to Wednesday, the mall is open from 10 am until midnight. From Thursday to Saturday, the mall operates from 10 am to 1 am. Some attractions and restaurants inside the mall may be open until later.
