While the winner of the Oscar was at the Chelsea Flower Show in London, an outlet asked her about her next projects.

The 89-year-old Dench retorted, "No, no. I am so blind!” according to Deadline.

The Belfast star has macular degeneration, a condition that results in an abrupt and permanent loss of central sight, according to the Mayo Clinic. It is the primary root cause of visual impairment in adults over 50.

Dench's remarkable 65-year career as a well-known figure in theater and film began with her 1957 debut. She most recently acted in the Christmas comedy "Spirited" from 2022.

In 2021, Dench talked on how she adjusts to her deteriorating vision while reading scripts at a London event for the Vision Foundation.

"You find a way to manage and overcome the challenges," Dench shared. "I've had to develop a new method for memorizing lines, which involves friends repeatedly reciting them to me."

She added, "I rely on repetition and hope that any mistakes go unnoticed!"

On The Graham Norton Show in February 2023, Dench revealed that her deteriorating vision complicates her ability to memorize lines, despite her once photographic memory.

“I need a device that not only helps me learn my lines but also shows me their placement on the page," said the star of Philomena. "I used to memorize lines effortlessly. I could recite the entire 'Twelfth Night' even now."

While she currently has no film projects lined up, Dench recently co-authored a memoir with Brendan O’Hea titled "Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays The Rent," which was released last month.

“Shakespeare is my passion,” she explained. “It used to cost nine pence to sit in the gallery at the Old Vic and watch legends like Richard Burton and John Neville. This was before the Beatles era, and the audience would go wild. I never imagined that I would one day be a part of that world.”

The preceding verse praises those who follow the right guidance of Allah and do good deeds.

In the present verse, it is stated that the good-doers are those who avoid major sins and, especially immoral sins and shameful deeds.

There is one exception made by the expression lamam [ which will be elaborated upon later ].

It means that they sometimes do commit minor sins [ lamam ] but that does not exclude them from the category of being muhsinin [ good-doers ].
