Shy people have very recognizable characteristics.

There are some signs that help detect a shy person . Shyness is a personality trait that manifests itself very clearly with regard to social skills and the propensity of an individual to interact less with others.

In some cases, if the shyness is intense, it can become disabling. These people find it very difficult to establish work, love and even friendship relationships. But in most cases it is usually something temporary that only happens when making a first contact with other people and that fades away when they manage to create significant bonds.

Characteristics that distinguish a shy person

Arrogance is often confused with shyness . When a person behaves in an evasive way, hardly speaks and answers in a low voice, it can be thought that it is an arrogant way of responding and with this generate the dislike of others.

But it is actually a typical trait of a shy personality. It is not that people seem unpleasant to them, what happens is that it is more difficult for them to relate, but once they overcome the barrier, everything flows and they manage to overcome this initial elusive state.

That is why it is important to recognize the characteristics of shy people and not prejudge them.

1. Evasive gaze

A very clear trait of a shy person is that they do not look us in the eye . This can be confused with indifference or lack of attention, but in reality what happens is that the gaze of others is intimidating and overwhelming, so they do not usually fix their gaze on the eyes of their interlocutor.

2. Lazy greeting

A shy person does not usually give a strong handshake when greeting . Not to mention giving a kiss or a hug. Regularly, when they greet, they take only the tips of the hand or leave it limp and quickly let go.

3. Low voice

A typical characteristic of shy people is that they speak with a very low voice . When greeting or in casual conversation, they use a very low tone of voice. Many times when they try to raise their voice, it sounds squeaky and off-key.

4. Slouched

The general posture of shy people is stooped . As they are trying to hide from the rest of the people, they tend to lower their backs and shoulders, this makes them feel safer because they feel that they are seen less and that they go unnoticed.

5. Downcast

In addition to a hunched back, shy people often keep their heads down . For example, if they are working, they tend to look down, in this way they feel that they are putting up a barrier so that the people around them do not get too close.

6. They blush easily

When they are spoken to, they blush easily . Especially if it is a compliment, but sometimes it is enough for someone of greater authority or that they like to talk to them about any topic for the blood to rise and color their cheeks.

7. Quiet

A shy person speaks very little . When they are in a work or social meeting, it is easy to identify the shy because they hardly speak and remain seated with their posture a little backwards so that they are not asked something and then they have to speak.

8. Evasives

Shy people's conversations and responses are evasive . When they are asked something directly, in addition to averting their eyes and speaking softly, they often give answers that are not very specific or that compromise them in some way.

9. They want to go unnoticed

They do everything possible so that no one sees them . That is the reason for their soft or almost silent speech, their stooped posture, and their downward gaze. It is a form of protection for them because what they want is for no one to notice their presence and to have to interact as little as possible.

10. Inconspicuous clothing

One of the characteristics of someone who is shy is that their way of dressing is usually inconspicuous . They choose dark, neutral colors or colors that correspond to a single pattern. That is, if they like purple, they wear mostly this color. In addition to the fact that they wear loose and usually unfashionable clothes, precisely because they do not want to attract attention and prefer a sober style.

11. They run away from social situations

Shy people are not very fond of social gatherings . Some are overwhelmed by large parties with many people and others prefer them because they go unnoticed. It may also happen that they avoid meetings where active participation is required, such as karaoke.

12. Fear of the new

Although we can all be afraid of the unknown, the shy, in general, fear it even more . It is normal to feel fearful about things that we do not know and are new, but when someone is shy they can become paralyzed and not even have the willingness to face it.

13. They don't take risks

A shy person is hardly a risk taker . When presented with an opportunity to do something that seems risky, shy people don't take it. This is because they are usually fearful and anything that implies a brave or striking attitude on their part, they tend to reject it.

14. Concerned about the opinion of others

Something that disproportionately affects the shy is the opinion of others about them . This becomes a vicious circle. They are affected by what others might say about them, and that makes them more shy. If someone makes a comment towards them, it affects them much more.

15. They avoid physical contact

A shy personality trait is that they avoid physical contact . Especially with people they know little and with whom they do not have a significant bond. When they have gained confidence, they have no problem with hugging and caressing and with physical contact in general.

16. They don't talk much about themselves

People with shy traits don't like to talk about themselves . You will rarely see them in a meeting recounting at length some anecdote that involves them. And if someone asks them to talk about themselves, they will do it succinctly and quickly.

17. Fear of public speaking

Shyness can have negative consequences, for example when speaking in public . People with this personality trait tend to avoid situations that expose them to the gaze of others, which is why many of them feel anxiety and panic if they have no choice but to go through that drink.
