Speaking about election rigging and the state of the nation, AY said:

AY: We have always maintained that non-chalant attitude when it comes to getting involved with the process itself and those who understand it, usually what they do is take advantage of the entire populace and do what they have to do. It's like having a template. They know what to say, what to do, and how to do it in a way that it will look like we are supposed to understand. Now Nigerians are beginning to gaining that consciousness, we are provoked now. Everybody is waking up to believing that we have to be a part of this process this time. We need to have an understanding of what should be done and how we should go about it.

When you make a choice from experience, from knowing a particular candidate, and then you wake up and your choice is not the one that is being elected, so rather than have an election, we are having a selection. So now, when that happens, trust me, every other thing will not work accordingly. This is not to write off all the candidates that have come out or that eventually won. But what I can say is that the system is bad, it is polluted, the system has people who go there for selfish interests, and they are so self centered to the point whereby they need to take care of themselves and the people who put them there. Some of them are just figureheads.

We need to get it right because if anything goes wrong, there will be something that Nigerians and those in power, something that they won't even find a Nigeria to hand over power to, because I think the youths will be ready to turn it all around. Do you know that Nigeria once worked? Do you know that due process in line with everything worked in this country? And if you look around, as at the time Nigeria was working, you will see structures in place. Now go around Nigeria, those structures that were in place back in the day, some of them are being packed up. Everything has gone down the drain and no one cares. I am looking forward to a Nigeria that will work again in terms of infrastructure, in terms of the general economic growth, in terms of seeing the common man wake up and say yes, to put food on the table for my family shouldn't be a problem. Nigeria must work from 2023. Nigeria must work!
