The owners of this farm are a young couple, two born in the 1990s. Weng Yuanhao, 25, graduated from Zhejiang A&F University three years ago. He gave up the chance to go to graduate school, quit his job, and started a family farm with his girlfriend, which now has more than 120 varieties of succulents.

A piece of meat, a dog, a garden, spring flowers...... This is the life they aspire to.

Give up Graduate school and return home to grow "meat"

For the first time, Weng Yuanhao was busy in the sightseeing greenhouses of the meaty planting base. He was wearing a T-shirt and liberation shoes. His dark skin was the same as that of the farmers, and he smiled sincerely. This "90" generation, however, looks quite sophisticated. 'All I do every day is play with the succulent meat,' he said. 'I feel happy.'

Weng Yuanhao has always loved flowers and plants. He majored in microbiology at Zhejiang A&F University. Since the second semester of his junior year, he has been preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination for nearly a year and has been admitted to the forestry major of the university. Instead of enrolling right away, he chose to retain his academic status and work for a year.

A year later, he gave up the chance to go to graduate school, quit his job, and started his own business. "After working for a year, my perspective changed and I realized that a degree is not particularly important." Weng Yuanhao, who has a girlfriend of seven years, also hopes he can make money and marry her as soon as possible.

"I've always wanted to start my own business and dreamed of having a small business of my own." Weng Yuanhao has been fond of growing succulent meat since his junior year when the balcony of his dormitory was filled with cute succulent meat. "Succulent grow very lovely, very delicate, carefully raised, watch it grow a little bit, the very sense of accomplishment." At the time, he often went online to find posts to learn about succulent breeding methods. "The blow says it is difficult to breed succulent, in fact, after understanding its habit, do not give succulent watering every day, the survival rate will be much higher."

After graduating from college, Weng Yuan-hao stumbled into a succulent breeding company and became a succulent producer. This year, he figured out how to grow succulents at scale. At that time, he planted hundreds of POTS of meat in the dormitory, the room is full of soil and POTS, and his girlfriend could not bear to see.

After working for a year, Weng, with a dream of starting his own business and a passion for succulent meat, finally decided to return to his hometown to grow meat and start his career as a gardener.

It feels good to try to do something well

Last year, Weng Yuanhao and Zhou Lu quit their jobs and started their meaty business with their savings, money subsidized by their parents, and some money borrowed from friends.

Zhou Lu is a foreign trade professional, open a shop, and playing WeChat business is a strong point. Before resigning, she had worked in a foreign trade company in Jinhua city for two years. She had a certain foundation, and it was the time when she began to relax. Quit to accompany her boyfriend to start a business, she was a little hesitant, but the family is very supportive. "He can't do it on his own. Two people can always share a bit. It's nice to start a business together and work together on something."

They brought in a batch of fleshy mothers from South Korea to breed them, hoping to make them look better. Now, the girlfriend is in charge of sales, especially online sales on WeChat and Taobao; The boyfriend was in charge of the planting. To do promotion, Zhou Lu often among the most meat players likes to go to the website, APP stickers, and leave a recommendation, she also wants to maintain a Taobao station, and regularly update pictures on WeChat.

The succulent meat from Qiuhe Family Farm is currently sold on Taobao and WeChat, with prices ranging from 3 to 800 yuan, and the best-selling meat is between 5 and 50 yuan. "Our succulents are mainly medium to high grade, and many regular customers foster them on our side when they are not at home." In his spare time, Weng often sets up a stall at the gate of Lanxi Stadium in the evening with Meat and his girlfriend. Working in greenhouses during the day and living in simple houses at night

"Starting a business requires perseverance, and sometimes you will encounter a lot of difficulties. You just have to grit your teeth and get over them," Weng said. "During the cold wave last year, I put charcoal in the greenhouse to keep the meat warm. In winter, he would get up three or four times in the evening to add charcoal. Once, after midnight, he went in to add charcoal. After five minutes, he had a slight ringing in his ears.

This summer, the weather is particularly hot, and the continuous high temperature caused more than 1000 new varieties in the greenhouse all destroyed, a great loss. To take care of the delicate succulents, they have to stay in the greenhouse every day, from morning to night, the temperature in the shed is nearly 50℃ in summer. With limited funds and low beds for growing succulent meat, they have been squatting. Taobao activities, the list of buyers, they will be busy picking up goods, and packaging. At night, they lived in makeshift houses next to the greenhouses. "There is air conditioning in the sleeping area, but not in the working area. It is nearly 40℃ in the house during the hottest days."

The two post-90s couples have been supporting each other for a year. "It's hard work and it's not fun anymore. I love meaty meat. It's like a child. Careful care can grow a more beautiful appearance." Weng Yuanhao said. If the succulent is kept for a long time, it will grow and look better. At present, the QIuHE family farm has more than 10 acres of succulent planting base, the number of succulents up to more than 60,000 strains, and one-third of the varieties are imported from South Korea.

"Succulents are lazy plants, but it also takes skill to raise them beautifully." Many people say that succulent is difficult to feed, Weng Yuanhao said, during the succulent growth period in spring and autumn, combined with moisture, sunshine, and other elements, the succulent raise the most beautiful posture; Summer to save the main, control water, strengthen ventilation, prevent meat rotted; In winter, when there are fewer pests, insulation is key.

Weng Yuanhao promised his girlfriend, "When all the greenhouses are full of meat, I will marry you!"
