A pianist who walks on his knees

She was an unhappy girl, born to an unhappy family in Korea. Her father, a crippled military man, had been taking morphine for 10 years for pain relief.

Her mother did not know when she was pregnant. She took medicine for motion sickness when she traveled, so she was born with a severe deformity of the body, just like a monster, with only two slender fingers on her two arms, and her legs below the knee were thin and long, with no toes at all. Unfortunately, she was also a mentally retarded child.

At the age of four, her legs showed no signs of growth below the knee and were as tiny as they had been at birth, so doctors had to amputate them. After amputation, she was much shorter than other children for her age and unwilling to be fitted with a prosthetic leg, she stubbornly walked on her knees.

When she was five, her mother bought her a piano to give her some fun. After practicing for some time, she grew to like playing the piano.

When she was six, her mother was going to send her to piano school. Through effort time and again, after 6 months, there is a school accepted her finally. However, when she started piano training, she faced greater difficulties than ordinary people. Her only four fingers were all without joints, and three of them were boneless. She even had no strength to press the keyboard, let alone play songs. When her mother asked her to practice, she put up a silent resistance.

Her angry mother threw her to the floor and forced her to practice, doing her mind work over and over again. After three months of fighting with her mother, she gave in and began the boring practice.

A month later, she was able to skillfully play a simple tune Butterfly Butterfly, and with this tune won the first prize in the children's piano competition held in the city.

To let her piano performance achieve great progress, the mother took her to visit a piano professor, please the professor taught her to play fantasy impromptus, looked at her, professor politely refused and said to her: "let's find some easy thing to do, a normal person is difficult to play so complicatedly, only four fingers not complete so many notes!"

However, her last success gave her such strong confidence that when no teacher was willing to teach her, she began to teach herself at home. With her mother at her side, she practiced 10 hours a day. Because of her mental problems, she could not read music, so her mother taught her music one by one until she learned the whole piece by heart. After a long time of practice, she had blood blisters on her stiff fingers and thick calluses on the base of her knees.

In this way, with incredible perseverance and ultra-high training intensity, her four fingers gradually have strength, and the opening of the mouth more and more can play a large span of double notes. After five and a half years of hard work and more than 100,000 times of playing, she was finally able to skillfully play "Fantasy Improvisation" and learned to play it alone with both hands.

Recently, she was invited to perform at a church in Canada, and more than 2,000 tickets were quickly sold out. In the concert, when her only four fingers hit the keys, it was like a butterfly smelling the flowers and dancing on the keys. The sound of the piano was mellow and powerful, not broken, and free, just like a titmouse fluttering beside a quietly flowing stream, or like a fish in the water playing with a drifting maple leaf on the water.

The show was a huge success, and people came to hug her and say things like, "You're the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen!" "It was wonderful! "It's an honor to see you perform!" "Hope for my hearing impaired daughter!"

She is 19 years old, with the height of a four-year-old and the intelligence of a seven-year-old. But she has become a world-class pianist with indomitable perseverance and has become the idol of children all over the world. Canada, Japan, Britain, China, and other countries have sent out performance invitations to her.

"Although I am like a monster in a swamp, I am never ashamed of my appearance," Hee-ha told reporters. I thank my mother for my life, and I thank the great God for my talent."

We all know, that her God is her own, is her strong optimism not to bow to the difficulties of her strong heart.
