Devastating news today as reports have come about the death of Nollywood actor, Murphy Afolabi. Just yesterday, news broke about the death of Saint Obi, and now, here we have another one. Reporting the news and writing stories about people's death is so sad, especially when the person who has passed away is so beloved.

Although a lot of people knew Murphy Afolabi and were familiar with his work, there are also a whole lot of people who do not really know the actor because he worked majorly in the Yoruba movie industry. 1. He Just Recently Celebrated His Birthday

The late Murphy Afolabi was born on the 5th of May, 1974 and celebrated his birthday just less than 2 weeks ago. He was 49 at the time of his death, next year would have been his golden birthday when he would have turned 50.

2. He Was a Father of Three

Murphy Afolabi is reportedly leaving behind three very young children: Olamilekan Afolabi, Fathia Moyosore Afolabi, and Okikiola Afolabi. He was the type of celebrity father who loved to show off and celebrate his children, and frequently posted and celebrated them during milestone events like their birthdays and graduations. His children adored him. Here is an Instagram videos his daughters did to show how God created him:

3. He Was Actually An Award Winning Actor

Many people upon the announcement of Murphy Afolabi's death were not very familiar with the actor and some people even thought he was an upcoming actor. However, Murphy Afolabi was very successful and had been working in the Nigerian movie industry for many years now, since the late 1990s in fact. He primarily worked in the Yoruba movie industry which is why so many people who do not watch indigenous movies may not recognize him. He starred in popular movies like "Gbolahan", "Asake", "Igbekun", "Olokiki Oru", "Omo Rapala", and many more. He even once took home the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Yoruba) at the Best of Nollywood Awards in 2012.

4. He Was Unmarried...

At least according to what reports say. Even though Murphy Afolabi was blessed with three children, there was never any confirmation of a wife. There was no wedding picture or acknowledgement, anniversary celebration, or any of the sort. So because of this, it is believed that Murphy Afolabi remained unmarried until his death.

5. The Cause of His Death

According to reports, Murphy Afolabi died after sustaining a fall in the bathroom during the early hours of the day. The ground was reportedly made of tiles and on his way to the bathroom, Murphy Afolabi slipped which led to an injury that led to his eventual demise.

It is so devastating reporting the passing away of people. May the soul of Murphy Afolabi rest in perfect peace, and all my thoughts, prayers, and love go out to his family and his little children at this time. It is well.

That's All.
