What happened?

That’s the question a lot of people ask whenever they hear that a relationship has come to an end. What happened? This question is usually asked when nobody saw any warning signs, when the relationship looked perfect. Then out of the blue, news strikes that it is over.

Well, this phenomena doesn’t happen to just we regular folks, it also happens to celebrities.

Here are 5 Nigerian Celebrity Breakups That None of Us Saw Coming.

1. Eva Alordiah and Caesar

Talk about unexpected!

Remember all the way back during the 2015 Headies Awards when Eva Alordiah’s boyfriend, Caesar came on stage during her performance, got on one knee and proposed to her?

It was a moment that went viral and immediately following that performance, the congratulatory messages came flying in. Everyone was waiting for what naturally was expected to come next – the marriage.

But it never came.

16 months after the engagement, Eva Alordiah took to her social media to write a post saying:

I’m single Again and not quite sure I was ready for the other side. Feels so familiar, this Single life, yet so new.

I have been single for only 1 Day and I already feel

My friends always used to Tease me and tell me I love 'Love'.

I have finally accepted this is True. I do Love Love. What LEO Woman doesn't?

"#ThatWasAReallyGoodMan and I may be silly to let him go but it's okay cause now #YouCanHaveHimSister!

After such a public proposal, who would have thought this is how their story would end?

2. Yvonne Nelson and Jamie Roberts

Congratulations were in the air when beautiful Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, announced that she was having a baby with her lover, Jamie Roberts.

Everybody congratulated her and took this announcement to mean that not too long after, it would be Yvonne’s time to walk down the aisle.

But that was not to be.

Barely two years after they welcomed their daughter, Ryn Roberts, Yvonne Nelson went on an interview with Naa Ashokor of Joy FM. On that interview, she confirmed that she and Jamie were over.

As you can imagine, not only was the interviewer surprised, the fans listening were also surprised.

3. Yvonne Jegede and Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole

Talk about coming out of nowhere.

February 2018, Yvonne Jegede tied the knots with her husband, Olakunle Fawole

One year later, out of nowhere, news came that the marriage had crashed. March 2019, a year and a month after the wedding, Yvonne sat down with PULSE TV where she did a tell-all interview talking about all the problems she endured in her marriage.

Talk about news coming from the left-field, nobody even knew there were problems especially for a marriage so young.

4. Blossom Chukwujekwu and Maureen Esisi

This is still one of the most shocking of all, especially if you followed Blossom and Maureen on social media.

All over social media, Blossom and Maureen showcased their beautiful happy marriage to the admiration of their many adoring fans. From funny videos to intimate photos, they were everyone’s idea of what #BaeGoals looked like.

Then, out of nowhere, stories of crisis in the marriage started to emerge around September 2019. There were claims of infidelity, there was news Blossom had gone back to his former girlfriend. Next thing we knew, Blossom took down all his pictures of Maureen from his social media. It is as if she never even existed in his life if you go through his page.

Till today, this is one of the most left-field celebrity breakups we’ve witnessed because no one could have seen it coming.

5. Fredrick Leonard and Peggy Ovire

Question – how can you see a relationship coming to an end when you didn’t even know there was a relationship to begin with?

That is the question for actors, Fredrick Leonard and Peggy Ovire. We were all surprised to wake up and see news on renowned blogger, Stella Dimoko Korkus’ website that Fredrick and Peggy had broken up.

The story reads and I’ve just copied and pasted the article as is for you here:

What could have gone wrong that this Lovely couple have broken,no longer speak to each other and even unfollowed themselves on IG?..Eyaaah...

Peggy and Frederick used to be all over each other on their social media handles and in real life but as you read this, things have fallen apart and the centre can no longer hold....

Actor Peggy was spotted by a whistle blower on her way to the US last month and was on the same flight with Frederick....This was a coincidence mind you but she went on her snap chat and referred to him as her ex..She posted that she ran into her ex in the same flight and kept a straight face.....The Ex turned out to be Fred....

They dated for about a year but no one can tell why or when exactly they split.

Wow! Who could have seen this one coming? Nobody even knew it existed!

That’s All.
