2 Nigerian Celebrities Who Died Same Day This Week (Photos)

Tragedy has hit the Nigerian entertainment industry this week as news has come out about the death of not one, but two Nollywood celebrities. Here's what happened.

Don Brymo Uchegbu

Nollywood actor Mr Brymo Uchegbu who was popularly known in the industry as Don Brymo, died on Wednesday night (June 14) this week according to report by SaharaReporters. The actor who had starred in a number of Nollywood productions including Anger of a Wonder Girl, Ikemba, Ritual of Vengeance, and Wedding in Nigeria was very well known for playing the role of Igwe (king) in the movies he appeared in.

The news of Don Brymo Uchegbu's death was made known to the public by Mr Mayor Ofoegbu, a well-known movie director in Nollywood. Ofoegbu took to social media to confirm the news of Don Brymo's passing, writing:

Plan for tomorrow but live for today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. I wrote those lines on my WhatsApp status yesterday evening. My man, my 5 & 6, Don Brymo Uchegbu, passed in his sleep.

I received the shocking news this morning and had to verify from his family. Chai! Don Brymo my manchi. It’s had to say goodbye. Nnukwu nwa na Enugu ukwu

Don Brymo Uchegbu hailed from Anambra State and was born in 1966. He died at the age of 56 years old.

Afeez Agoro

On the same Wednesday night when Don Brymo Uchegbu died, another Nollywood actor and reality TV star also drew his last breath. "Nigeria's tallest man" Afeez Agoro Oladimiji reportedly died on Wednesday night too.

According to reports, the 7ft 4in tall actor died on Wedesday night at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after battling chronic hip arthitritis that was reportedly also brought upon by the Acromegaly he suffered. This same Acromegaly is the ailment which Afeez contracted at the age of nineteen that caused him to shoot up in size. Acromegaly, also commonly known as gigantism, is the ailment which made him grow vertically at a very rapid rate. Afeez tried to combat this ailment but was unsuccessful. He spoke severally about how the ailment caused him so much pain and affected his life negatively.

Afeez Agoro's bural arrangements have already commenced at his residence on Community Road in the Akoko Area of Lagos.

Rest in peace to Don Brymo Uchegbu and Afeez Agoro. May their souls rest in perfect peace.
