Alabama: Dead Children's Playground

In Alabama one popular urban legend that has been seen is that of the dead childrens playground. When you go to huntsville alabama you would come across a cemetary called "Maple Hill" that has a adjoining playground. It might seem like your average everyday playground however locals and visitors alike have noticed creepy things. One example of this is swing sets moving when their is no one around along with dark orbs thought to be spectral figures. Legend says that the spirits of the children in the graveyard take over the playground. It has also been rumored that children were buried in this playground after a series of abductions in the 1960's. The true cause may never be discovered.

Alaska: Jesse Lee Home for Children

In Alaska one place that is extremely creepy and haunted is that of the Jesse Lee home for children. This place was a former place for displaced children. In 1964 tragedy struck at the school when a natural disaster hit the school. An earthquake one of the worst in alaskan history at the time occurred. It made the walls of the dormitory come down and more than a dozen children were killed. Due to the destruction they moved the school to anchorage but the old building still remains. When the old house stayed so did all the apparent ghost phenomena. When one goes onto the building it is said that giggles can be heard along with sounds of balls bouncing and jump ropes.

Arizona: Arizona University Haunting

In Arizona one well known urban legend is that the university of arizona is haunted by many spirits. One of the most popular and well known spirits is that of a young woman named kathy who lived in the dorm room called Morton Hall. It was around the christmas season and she was hoping to go home for the holidays when right before the semester ended she got a phone call that was heartbreaking. Her family had gone bankrupt as there buisness had fallen apart at the seams. They could not afford to send her home and she would have to stay at the dorm room for the holidays. If that wasn't enough in this poor girls life her boyfriend had just dumped her for another woman. She thought he was going to propose over the holidays so she was devastated. Kathy couldnt take the humiliation of being poor and alone so she ended up taking her life. months later a stillborn child was found in the basement. Rumors have been said that it is a possibility the baby was hers. She is known to haunt the dorm and when she is near an aroma of roses will be smelt.

Arkansas: The vanishing hitchhiker

In Arkansas there is a story that chills locals to the bone. That of the vanishing hitchhiker. The legend states that on a dark night upon a road on hwy. 365 a young girl was seen. This girl was seen in a torn white dress crossing along a bridge. Some people have said that they have gone to pick the girl up. They than go to drive her to her nearby home and upon arriving the girl disapears. One person said that they knock on the door and a older woman answers. She than begins to state that the young girl did once live their but she died in accident. Another branch of the urban legend states that she was given a coat when she was picked up but once she disapears the mans coat appears on her gravestone.

California: Suicide bridge

In Pasadena California their is a bridge that has been told is stories all over the state. In 1913 the bridge was built and this brought talk of travelers but after a short time it took a creepy twist when people began to jump from the top of the bridge which ended up being an 150 ft. drop. By 1923 it began to be given its name: Suicide Bridge. The first tragedy that happened at this area occured before the bridge was even built. One of the bridge workers ended up sadly falling over the side of the bridge and falling into a thing of wet cement. Due to what happened his coworkers assumed he could not be helped and so they left him in the cement. He is one of the many spirits haunting the bridge. It is said that over 100 people have taken their life and are haunting the area.
