The Orchard Boy
It was packed full of people at the Hutcherson farm on October 20th, 2013. It was a Sunday, meaning each family had their children out and picked apples for the day. The line to get in wasn't that long, having due to a traffic guard right in the middle to guide each of us. Once parked, everyone would leave their vehicles and head straight toward the orchard.
Monte Cristo Homestead in Junee, New South Wales, Australia
I wrote about a true crime case a while back that took place in Australia in the 1940s that continues to boggle minds today. This is my first dive into a haunted house in Australia, though. The entire continent has a long and rich history, going back at least 65,000 years of indigenous Australians. Travel with me now as we head over to look at a place known as Australia’s most haunted house in New South Wales, the Monte Cristo Homestead.

A movie played in the background, and we lay there whispering a million sweet nothings with no words passing between us. That was when I felt her soft touch as she ran the tip of her nose across my cheek. I turned to look at her and the world around us became irrelevant. All that mattered was right there in front of me. She had that “kiss me” look in her eyes, and for a brief moment, I forgot how to respond.

The silence is absolute, as if time never began here and never will. How can I describe it? As if a wall of glass has been placed by the great hand of a God in the midst of the forest, and no living thing may pass. The trees crowd against their limit, aching to reach into the barren land, and their longing embitters them. They grow twisted, their bark black and limbs contorted.
Lauren EverdellPublished 2 years ago in HorrorWhy does everybody love Eddie Munson in ‘Stranger Things’ so much?
I know what you’re thinking. It’s not that hard to understand why Eddie is so popular. Like a lot of the characters on Stranger Things and on other shows he has all the telltale characteristics of characters we are often drawn to. He’s super nice and lovable and has memorable and often humorous lines. He’s the type of person we aim to be: he loves himself in all of his eccentricities and he’s comfortable in his own skin. But he also has insecurities and (spoilers ahead) he makes righteous sacrifices. Also, he played some bitchin’ licks. Mystery solved, Sherlock.

Gabriel had sensed it long before he had even reached the front door. It was likely because it was a beautiful fall day and he was driving home with the convertible's top down. At first, he simply assumed he was just smelling the remnants of her on the leather seats, like a warm memory. He was excited to have a three-day weekend ahead with the love of his life. But then that scent grew stronger until he was pushing the buttons of the neighborhood gate code, and like a predator sensing for another predator through the winds, he inhaled deeply. The scent was unmistakable; his hands clenched tight around the steering wheel.

It’s fairly common for the medics to roll in with a patient that looks like they were recently—or not so recently—dug up from the local cemetery. Think The Crypt Keeper but without all the witty one-liners or the will to live. They’re always from a nursing home, too. Places with cheerful names like Morningside or Reflections that bring to mind spas rather than the cesspool of antibiotic-resistant germs and urine-scented sheets that they actually are.
N.J. GallegosPublished 2 years ago in HorrorDad had a hole in his head
I'm not sure which was weirder. The fact that dad had a hole in his head or the fact that he was so unimpressed with it.

My breath shuddered as I began to feel my nerves start to roll my stomach and cause my limbs to shake. “Not now, not now.” My breaths began to speed up in unnatural patterns. I started to pace, trying to focus on bringing my breath to a slow rhythm. Darkness began to creep into my vision as I slid my body to the ground, collapsing under the weight on the anxiety that was pushing on my chest. These attacks never come at convenient times and this was an inconvenient time. I was fighting for life, literally and this was not the moment for this.

Prey, which takes place a few hundred years before the events of Predator, follows a Comanche girl named Naru (Amber Midthunder) who is in constant competition with her brother Taabe (Dakota Beavers). Both are incredibly skilled hunters, but of course, Naru isn’t given the same credit as her male peers. But when a Predator (Dane DiLiegro) lands in their territory, Naru is finally given the chance to show just how good of a hunter she is.
